Not necessarily...They are not there due to laziness but for reminiscence...to make a statement of the relationship longevity between the owner operator and the truck.
Good Grief!

I remember when that truck was new, back in the day when Clarence would leave a note on your truck if he could see dirt on the windshield.
-
I'd rather have that truck than a new $200,000 truck payments with them el cheapo rates right now.
JoeyJunk, Daycabinit and TallJoe Thank this. -
Out here in the oil patch, that truck would be s.o.p.

Trucks are like people.
Some are ugly. Some are pretty.
Some are clean. Some smell. ETCETERA.
Those things are irrelevant from the viewpoint of their utility. The only distinction that matters is safe vs unsafe.InTooDeep, JoeyJunk and kemosabi49 Thank this. -
The local dot’s won’t bother with those beat up junk truck guys around here in these parts. They will go after the fancy kept up cared for rigs. Why?
Because we’ve been told by many dot’s that those guys would rather spend a night or two in jail then pay a fine so the county/ state gets no revenue from them. The other guys with the good trucks will pay the fines in a heartbeat.InTooDeep Thanks this. -
What does this mean for me?
