Chasing pay and finding an M/T trailer are the worst I can say.

Sometimes hunting an MT can work in a drivers favor as long as you have a good DM that is routing your deadhead to include all the places you go for a trailer. Picked up a brand new Pete in Denton once and then made six hundred miles total deadhead on the first load between looking for an MT and then heading up to tulsa to grab a load going straight back to Phoenix to get it's decals put on.

Other times looking for an MT is just a PITA and causes you to lose your PP.

empties are a PITA. Knight thinks 1.5 trailers per truck is adequate. I'd beg to differ, especially since targets on the west coast likes to use our trailers as storage asnd won't release mts. sears and ikea having 150 trailers between them and refuse to release an mt to us either... pisses me off.

Agree. Unless directed to find an M/T nearby (and finding one), I ALWAYS tell DM "that I am not driving around for no $$". Always get the miles added, and/or local pay, IF I follow up. This is important>>follow up!

I don't believe Knight has a policy of "screw the driver", it's just that there are so many trucks, so many loads, so many DM's, and so many payroll peeps, that "stuff" gets lost in the shuffle.

Hey, it's your money, track it.

The head of Knight safety training in Phx told me that "Knight isn't a beeping/hooking company." That was Chris. So if she's wrong, then the whole company is boned.

    Oh wait.
