On a l/p there paying a lot of that?.Dont they charge a maintenance fund, physical damage insurance, tags, permits, fuel?.on average it usually cost anywhere from.75 to1.05 a mile just for the truck to operate.with a $1.13 a mile rate that leaves the driver with.38 a mile at pretty much best doesn't seem worth it imo

With swift the maintenance fund was up to you and you decided how much to put inew and if was your money to do with as you please. You paid insurance and fuel. They paid the plates and permits. I had the I-pass for $5/week and ok/ks pass and paid about $4/week. They paid the tolls and back then I ran a lot of Kansas and Oklahoma.

I don't think so.

You need to be a lot clearer then this
-
$220,000.00 That was pretty easy.

Swift did not want you to get your own authority. I remember seeing somewhere that NY was doing some funky things not recognizing self proprietary contractors, only LLC or S Corp. That's what Swift wanted you to do. Form an LLC/S Corp and get an EIN - your business ID number.
You may every well have the same issue with any carrier that you do an L/P with, as long as you are living in NY.
And frankly given the amount of money you claim you were making, you probably can save yourself a ton of cash on your taxes if you were an LLC/S Corp. -
He must have not been a solo driver if he made $220,000 in one year. Even a mentor might have been hard to make that much since that would have to have been about 200,000 miles in one year

I was a mentor and dedicated to Walmart and target. Yes I do know about the llc number and ein. Swift want me to get a dot number also

Really did you run the numbers. At 1.50 a mile you would need to run 150.000 Paydd miles.at 1.13 your talking closer to 200,000 payed miles.Again that's payed miles .Now I don't know but most leases have a mileage cap go over and they start charging more money now if he teamed those aren't good numbers, solo kinda hard to believe. You knowif I'm right you tried to tell me you work as a company driver with a private carrier I'm starting to think that wasn't true you seem to have a vested interest in L/Pand believing that numbers aren't true.It cost between.75 to a 1.05 on average to operate a truck a mile not including driver pay.so at a 1.13 your making.38 a mile at best with no vacation or benefits You I'm thinking are really doing a L/P yourself I'm thinking .and trying to convince your self your doing great.Last edited: Mar 8, 2017

He already said he was doing mentoring and on a dedicated account with stop pay. His numbers aren't out of line. But, your cost estimates are.
