A crap load is a solid top to bottom front to back load of cigarettes that have to be palletised & you get 40 dollars to do that when a lumper wouldve gotton 125 cash & went home at noon to his public housing, food stamps & welfare mamma..

Unless you deliver to a union warehouse . Then the lumper is a Teamster working off duty on his day off and gets $200 cash and goes home at 4 p.m. after taking 4 breaks to his diesel dually pickup , 2 Harleys , bass boat and inground pool .

Hauling bulk material can be notorious for crap loads. The truck is paid $xxx per ton, then the driver generally gets a % of that. A couple of weeks ago I overheard a couple of drivers talking on the CB, complaining about the load they just done. It paid $2 per ton, which figured out to $54 to the truck. Wasn't enough to pay for the fuel. Some company dispatchers will grab the first thing that smacks them in the face on load boards, not considering expenses. I've had a few crap loads already, only paying about $9/ton.

crap load is anything that requires more than 20 straps to secure... but if that's my only complaint then I guess I've got it good.
