Great "New Mexican" style Mexican food. Not really "Southwestern style" but the authentic style dishes that can only be found in New Mexico. Almost as good as La Fonda in Santa Fe and certainly as good as only a handful of other places in Albuquerque and Santa Fe that offer this style of cuisine. No other place on I-40 [that is easily truck accessible] can compete if you appreciate this style of "Mexican food" and the prices are reasonable. Also, great margaritas, a handful of New Mexico craft beers, and your typical Mexican imports and common domestic beers

Pretty hard to beat the green chile at Lisa's in Moriarty, NM. Exit 197 I think.

Or Santiago's in Colorado. Lots of locations, but the one I know accessible by truck is off 72nd and Vasquez Blvd.

Most of your flavor is in the fat. Small wonder cheese is sooooooooo good (30% of the daily recommended saturated fat in a single slice). *ponders the deliciousness of Swiss, Smoked Gouda, Cottage & Chevre*

 

Check out Filibertos in Albuquerque sometime. Parking at Kmart right across the street.

First, could you kinda keep it quiet about this place. too much talk and it will get overrun with them dang truck driver types.

The place has been owned and run by the same people for years. Used to really be grandma in back making tortillias and what not. The food is good quality, a lot of scratch made stuff. They used to have a large portions and was an excellent value, now not so much. Dont misunderstand, the food is good, just not as much on the plate as it was.
