After 2 weeks of weirdness I finally had a nice day.

Today's load was late because it took 3 hours and a couple locations to find an mt for a Morris, IL Costco load.
I just HAD to have an mt they said, and I had a hard time finding a place to park it at Costco. That whole back row only had a couple open spaces, so they have an abundance of mt's.

I ended up being 1/2 hour late for delivery, which wasn't too bad.

That was supposed to be my home time load, then they sprung one on me at the last minute.
It was a pallet load out of that same Costco, delivering in New Hope, MN.

I had permission to drop it at the terminal and deliver it after my home time on Sunday. No big deal with when it got there. But it was less than 20 miles away, with the terminal being about 30.
So I just delivered it and bobtailed home.

With being late to the first load, and delivering yet another load, I dropped my daughter off at her place only 30 minutes later than my original estimate of when I would get her there.
    Not a bad day.

And Leann is off the truck now, never to return.
She'll be turning 18 in a couple months and is looking forward to getting a job and a place of her own.

Had a 5 month driver from swjft trying to back up. Watch while another driver was helping him.
I saw that his kingpin length was way over 40 foot Mark
While he had pulled up and was waiting for other driver to get by him I had him move it to the 40 foot mark. Told him to re weigh it since tandem were at 32500 already
When he finally got it in the spot he went and showed me the new scale tix. 35000 lbs.
    He was going not
Try so.i said there is no scalehouse till Oregon that he can run like it is. Run up to the top of ashlung grade and run tandem back where they were.
Better than going back to shipper and waste time.
He said he picked it up close from here. Told him he was lucky.

So, one of us grossed at about 110k. Left terminal, went a few streets over, picked up the slabs. Driver with the heavy redlined coolant oil and trans, but cooled off and we went on our way. Mine and another guys was 12wide, the heavy was slightly wider. We were spaced out about a mile till we hit Nevada and dropped to about 2000 feet apart, stacked up at our exit, blocked two lanes for our last few turns to the jobsite.

Made it to vegas on time, dropped trailers, no emptys to return, so we are in kingman. After detours and other stuff. Believe it or not these double Ts are more fragile than sheet rock. Basically hand tighten and drive like your on ice. One saftey chain to the front, it cant take much, had a slab infront of it. Very exciting day. Fortunatly cars and suvs can go right under, mostly had to worry about RVs and trucks. Route itself fairly forgiving.

Im beat,, that was 10hrs total drive, a good 8 of it at the fullest focus one can get. Im just glad it all went off without a hitch, and after going to downtown vegas with it, i was never happier to deliver something than then.

The 40 is the single worst part of it for us, and kingman. If we hit vegas at 11, it might not be bad.

    Still at Troutdale terminal.
    Made that delivery this morning
Took them just over 4 hrs to hand unload tires. Came over here to wait for a load.had 4 hrs left k 14 when they start giving me preplan.
1st one was a picking up at Lowe's and delivering to Kennewick wa.
    No thanx.
Next one was picking up in Clackamas a live load today going to Toledo or anytime tomorrow. Stacked that with picking up in Toledo tonight going to madera ca with no appt. Sent a planner special saying I can try to tcall in lathrop.
    So refused that one.too
Then I guess I pissedthe planner off here cause he changed my pta to 2357. Lol. Called dl and changed that to tomorrow morning.
Got i to a debate with claims over tire load so not in a good mood to do others jobs.

    FerrissWheel Thanks this.
