Just as I was getting to sleep, at 0230, came the pounding on my door to hook back up to the trailer and move it out of the shop. It was fixed.
There was the threat of towing if I did not go.
I ended up moving it using line 5, but not before I told the guy off.
Told him off for the whole night of non-communication, including not telling me that I would not have to wait until the morning.
In fairness, I treated him badly.
He fixed the other truck and did his parts run, then came back to finish up my trailer.
That was admirable on his part.
But no one thought to tell me what was happening, so to me at that time of night it was just another wrench in the works.
I feel really bad for that.
I just want accurate information, not to be led on hour by hour with even more excuses, so that I can plan my time correctly. I get it that it is not an exact science, but I seem never to have these problems at the terminal shops. They say when they will get to me, and that is around the time they get to me. Simple.
Maybe it is just something in this area. The two shops I went to, the Love's just outside town and the TA, did the same exact thing to me.
It is these types of experiences that influence drivers to let problems go, to leave them for the next driver.
Because I could have let it slide and just dropped the trailer at the receiver. The chance for an inspection is very slim, as it has happened so seldomly in my 9 years here.

To bad our decks dont count on that list (no terminal has control over them only the division.) Bring in a stack (put me down for 3 please.)dptrucker Thanks this. -
Stay away from that I15 super scale lulz... Got like 7 level ones there. But then I ran by them everyday so. Oh well. -
Only thing is you still need to get into it and it's all 35 mph.
Had a crst gling about 50 thru there. Yelled at him over the radio about speed limit but he never responded.
He finally hit his break almost to the scale house.
Needless to say he got the green arrow for a meeting .
Wonder what the fine is?blsqueak and FerrissWheel Thank this. -
Flatbeds get a bit more attention. Especially when we are maxed out and Tail heavy. I mean 40k on the tail is not my first choice, but when you got that, your guranteed for at least a trip to the Static scale.
Also, I went through there as the inspectors started thier day. They live in vegas, I followed many of them to the scale. Go through there 8-noon is the worst time.dptrucker Thanks this. -
I am home, hurray.
I delivered my 'home time' load to Costco in Maplewood, MN, but not before they sent me another load to do tonight. A pallet load from that Costco delivering 23 miles away.
Since I was able to bt out from there I took it. (In the notes it said that we must take an mt, but my DM said go ahead and bt out and we'll send you back there for an mt when you come off home time.)
I would have had to take my mt to Inver Grove before I went home anyway, so it didn't really add any time and I got one more load.
I just passed my 9 year mark with Swift - 12/02/2010 is when I was hired.FerrissWheel, dwells40 and dptrucker Thank this. -
Jurupa terminal.
Did 3 local work today since I only had 5 hrs on 70 a d have tomorrow off.
Stopped my empty in the yard a d grabbed a loaded one and delivered to Mira Loma ca for a live unload.
Then they had me take that empty to lumber liquidators in pomona ca.
Called a planner in jurupa that gave me a load that picked up at the terminal and went to.lowes in Moreno valley.tgey ended up refusing the load cause the b.o.l didnt say it was going there.
Had about 7 b.o.l. that was going to stores on the east coast.
Think whoever Tcalled this load at the terminal either lost the main b.o.l or didn't turn in everything.
I knew the paperwork didn't look good and tried calling my dl but he didn't answer so I just drove there.
Car said to tcall it back at the yard.
Called the dl and said if I can still get an empty when I come back cause I dropped one in pomona and this load got refused. He said most likely no.
So I asked if the one I dropped was still there. He thought I took it to the empty trailertrailer row. I said no just dropped it where I spent the nite.
He looked and said no-one is on it.
So I hurried back to terminal and dropped the loaded one and got under the empty one.
Once I Tcalled the Lowes load I had dl put that empty back on me and then I dropped it in the empty row and had yarddog put me on the empty list.
So now I get one when I come back Monday.FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
Albuquerque NM. Stopped in Vegas yesterday for a visit with the better half.
Going to deliver these supersacks in Houston monday. Double stacked sacks a flatbed, walking on em was like walking on soft sand, the mineral is similar to talcum powder but thats not what it is. Mostly had to crawl on it to unroll the tarps. About a 7foot tall load or so.
After that off to the illustious Houston terminal to grab a stack of skateboards and go to Denver.dptrucker Thanks this. -
Jurupa terminal.
Got a load out of here that has a 0900 appt about 5 miles away.
Cat scale ticket says tandem 34350.
Grabbed the trailer this morning and the tandem not set at 40'. 40' Mark is between the tires. Wrong!!!.
Set it back where it's suppose to be and used the terminal scale and now tandem are 35050.
After the live unload I take this trailer and drop it in Moreno valley then planner said to bobtail to shafter ca. Told him I need to be back here on Monday niteFerrissWheel Thanks this. -
Flying j in Bakersfield ca.
Delivered that heavy load of soap to Sam's dc this morning. Took just under 2 hrs to unload. Trailer smelled good when I first opened it lol.
Then took that empty to Ross dc in Moreno valley. Had an issue doing the loaded and empty call. Got that finally fixed.
Then asked to be dispatched on next trip that was putting me at the Ross dc in shafter ca. Guy said I needed an empty. I told him that planner said for me to bobtail since Ross had an abundance of empties
Finally got .e dispatched a d drove the 3 plus hours to the Ross only to have about the same issues again.
He said he couldn't fix it and was letting someone know
Sat just under an hour waiting until I got fed up with it and drove over to target dc down the street to see if they will give me an empty. They told me where they put them and said if I found one I could grab it. Which I did lol
Got the trailer put on.my truck and went back to park in the middle of the street by Ross. Did a Mac 10 letting them know of my doc appt on Tuesday.
Still haven't heard anything so I drove here for the nite.
I was a little peeved when I talked to the dispatch guy in Lewiston terminal( they are pretty much the only terminal on the west coast that answers their phone on the weekend) and told him how I pretty much felt about the swift weekend crew.FerrissWheel Thanks this.
