    Otay mesa ca.
Picking up a load at a customer here. Have to do a 30 due to having to run 200 miles b4 stopping. Gonna switch trailers in beaver ut tomorrow evening.
Though I will get there earlier. Got a bit of a head start today.
They sent me to a w almart store for an empty and gave me old address. Took me a bit to see the sign down the street lol. Trailer had a flat tire so ran to fontana yard.
They gave me another empty there since it eeded a 6 no inspection.
Gonna try and get to Las Vegas since Barstow is not long enough

    FerrissWheel and dwells40 Thank this.

Stacked load curse still intact. Final didn't match and since the load didn't have a delivery appt. I had it taken off of me. Took Laredo 3 hours but they found me a load back to Phoenix which I dropped today, 3492 miles for the week.

A Phoenix planner tried to stack 3 loads on me this morning. I took the first one and turned down the rest.

Stacked loads are almost always a curse. I usually avoid them.

Expecting things to go exactly as planned by the planners, in the trucking world?
    Get real. Things go wrong.

This morning getting out of Memphis I was hit with a 1 hour delay because highway 78 was closed in both directions for less than 1 block.
3 lanes trying to turn right and then left into a parking lot of some small stores to get past it. It was backed up pretty good for a couple miles.
Added to that were construction slowdowns, and of course getting around Atlanta during rush hour.

Oh, almost forgot to mention all the accidents in the Memphis area on the way to 78.
Just from the Petro in West Memphis there were 3 smashed up cars blocking something. One had t-boned into the center strip blocking the left lane. One of the others had a truck involved.

I ended up delivering 2 hours later than I had intended, but still within my window.

My next load is right back to Memphis with a Costco load that delivers at 1800 tomorrow, smack in the rush hour traffic. But I think I can avoid going through highway 78 to get there, so it may not be too bad.

Planners stack with loads assuming that the computer projections are right.
We all know, that seldom happens.

You can take exit 6 in Mississippi on 78 go north to 385 and miss all that mess on 78 in Tennessee.

That's the 269 connector ... It's complete now over to the 55 ... Unless you have business in the area, there's no reason to take the 78 into Memphis anymore.

    FerrissWheel Thanks this.

Ended up stopping in baker ca last nite for my 10.
    Pretty easy drive.
315 miles in just over 5 hrs.
Stopped at loves in cedar city for fuel and a shower.
I got here around 1330 today and relay driver got here around 1830.
Will be meeting same driver here.
Load I got from him has a 2200 appt live unload tomorrow but I am gonna get there lretty early in hopes they take it off.
It's a hit and miss if they take it early or not.

    Memphis, TN.
And such a nice town to stay in.

But I am away from it all tonight spending the night in a quiet parking lot at the Costco.
By the way, Radioshark, you were right about exit 6. Just north of 385 was the Costco on the same road.

I got here about 30 minutes early, but had to wait for another truck to be unloaded.
That guy had been late, but had the dock already.
Another Swift truck come in just after I docked (she was late as well), and they barely had room for my load. I'm glad I wasn't that driver. No telling how long it took to unload her if they had to move stuff out of the way.

    My next load is nice.
Pick up any time tomorrow and it delivers in Rogers, MN Monday at 1100.
Not the best miles for over the weekend (~900) but it gets me back out of the south and east stuff.
And it looks like no bad weather between here and there.

    radioshark Thanks this.
