Salt Lake City.
Huge storm moving through, though not so huge so far. At least, not down here.
I found that sweet spot with the idle.
It has happened once or twice before, but I can not achieve it often.
It is just warm enough that I can not idle without cheating, which means the tire thumper wedged between the seat and throttle.
Usually I can get 30 minutes before it shuts off.
But a few times I hit it just right.
If the idle varies just a little from time to time it will stay idling forever.Last edited: Jan 11, 2020
FerrissWheel and dptrucker Thank this. -
Got beaver ut around 1600. stopped at t/a in paragon ut for fuel.
other driver showed up around 7pm and switched trailers.
had a snow squall come thru about an hour b4 he showed up and weather news is saying it's gonna get down to 19 degrees in beaver.
So still had over an hour to drive.
So drove down here to the loves on cedar city for the night. should be a little warmer.

Got a message earlier on the day saying Memphis and Edwardsville terminals outbound gate were closed due to bad weather.

One later said that Edwardsville was open again.

Left cedar city ut this morning arkund 7am.
421 miles to Miller brewery. about 7 hrs to drive.
stopped at my normal truck parking area south of mesquite nv to make coffee.
wanted to see if I can make it to do so without doing a 30 min break. had an extra 35 minutes to get there.
made it with 30 min to spare.
don't think I would try that during a weekday.
most likely won't do it again unless I absolutely have too.
dropped the trailer and did my 30 break b4 grabbing the empty trailer.
Then drove here.
got lucky and was able to do my laundry today.
now watching football and have tomorrow offFerrissWheel Thanks this. -
Eden, ID.
After two attempts at finding an mt I was finally allowed to bt to my pickup in Ogden.
I'm headed to Roseburg, OR with a nice light Costco load from Kimberly Clark.
More snow heading in tonight, but the NOAA map shows my route as mostly very light until I get to western OR. We'll see what happens then.dptrucker and FerrissWheel Thank this. -
Spent 19 days at home over the holidays. ... You know you're finally back on the road when you spill coffee on yourself.
Unloaded in Dallas tonight ... Loading out to Orlando in the morning.FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
In OR along US 20, stopped because of the snow storm.
Also because of the 35-40 mph wind gusts with less than 10k in the box.
All of the passes along my route have chain laws up.
I stopped early today, as soon as the snow and wind started where I am. It is another 156 miles to the next place I could stop and I'm not taking chances.dptrucker and FerrissWheel Thank this.
