I do the same as Mystic. I think that with Ft Collins now, when you get one of those loads, I think that they say go in with full tanks.
Here in Sealy, TX. Was planning on getting East of Houston but got caught up in rush hour in San Antonio. Do not like having to push this hard, because of someone elses delay. One thing that I do when I am getting a load to t-call somewhere, I do what I can to get it there as soon as I go. For all that I know, there could be a driver there waiting for it, and it might just be a load that is getting him home. Now I have had 3 that I have had to wait for which has messed me up. Going to have to push another 650 miles tomorrow so that only have a little over 400 on Sunday, and then enough hours left to pu my next one and get up the road some.

Arrived at Nash Finch in Lima, Ohio this morning just before 0700, appointment was for 0200 but had a trailer repair in Pennsylvania. They told me that all receiving is done from 2200 - 0600, so now I'm sitting here waiting for the CSR to reply since they don't accept deliveries on weekends. May be time for a relaxing weekend in Azeroth.

I'm the same way, if the load says something to the effect of "not fueling before picking up the load" I either take on enough fuel for the trip or fill up. I did one trip from Port Allen, LA to NorCal 50 gallons at a time. I said "never again".

not always bad, I try to time my driving the best I can within the windows but sometimes it doesnt matter, like last night I hit some jams even close to midnight because they decided to turn the 405 into a single lane going south and the truck bypass was closed since it was part of the land closure so that was a pain going into a jam in the auto lanes. The other night they had the 405 closed completely for several miles going north and I had to take a fun detour. Going north I usually do not have any issues except sometimes just a little bit of a jam if I hit the Fresno area at the wrong time during rush hour.
Before taking off with my first load I talked with the site manager some who was filling in planning for Saturday and he promised my interview on Monday and wont put it off again and that he needs to hurry and hire someone, also mentioned not many applied for the position this time around so I have some hope. -
I have more issues with the condition of the SoCal freeways than the traffic. Probably has something to do with the fact that I used to live in SoCal.

I'll bear in mind the concept of running in with full tanks. However, our situation on this last load was that it was a preloaded trailer, already sealed...
... and we needed that load to get us to our next TJ Maxx dedicated load in Charlotte.
All is well now. We're headed to Las Vegas and just finished a stop in Memphis to turn in our old truck and get a brand new Cascadia. When we run teams as company drivers we turn in the truck at 250,000 miles (about a year) and get a brand new truck each year.
As we are pulling away from the terminal my partner starts swearing as he's shifting. "What's wrong?" "It's not an 8 speed, it's a 10 speed!"...
... now we both have to get used to a new setup. This will be my first time on a 10 speed. All of my career before Swift was on 13's, and most of my Swift career has been 8's. About time I get to try out a 10.
By the way, found out yesterday that my application to become a mentor has been accepted. Now they are trying to find a new partner for this team to replace me. If anyone is interested in running coast to coast each week out of Jurupa Valley, contact your DM and let them know you are interested in teaming on the TJMaxx/Marshalls account. -
Still sitting at the Pilot in Beaverdam, OH. This load can't be rescheduled until tomorrow morning, so I'm stuck. Going to watch some cartoons and play some WoW since I'll be here until tomorrow night.
