Denver terminal after getting a couple issues fixed on my truck.
Hoping for a load tomorrow heading me through, or to, Salt Lake so I can stock up a bit more on my pipe tobacco.
Very few places to find it, and there is a smoke shop next to the J at exit 3 in WY.

El Paso, TX at the Flying J. Drop our load in the morning and pick up our next at the terminal headed to Massachusetts, going just south of Boston.

Today has been a fun and interesting day. Arizona Highway Patrol was having a field day pulling trucks over. Must have seen 50 traffic stops between Eloy and the New Mexico border on 10. Also enjoyed seein all the Nascar haulers headed to Phoenix for the race. To top it off I aced my mid-term test and am down to my last 100 hours of training.

I ran I-40 a couple nights ago through Arizona and New Mexico. LEO's were very busy working trucks, I lost count after passing a dozen unlucky truckers parked on the shoulder all lit up by the disco balls. Must be some kind of "Operation Git 'Dem Bad Truckers" or something like that.

Only two pulled to the shoulder in New Mexico today on 10 that I saw. Came through both on 40 late last week and not a single set of flashing lights in either.

planner called me asking if I could take a load to San Jose for a live unload "what time?" his response 4am, ummmm no 4am wont work last minute. Been up since 6am and was out getting things done all day and already exhausted, staying up for over 24 hours to deliver a load will not happen plus I have my daughter and have to take her to school which I told him then the personal questions start flying, "well cant your wife take her?" among other questions, said my answer is no. Plus I have had some drinks so I would not be legal to drive but I didnt go further with why I could not do it, he didnt seem to pleased but I cant be expected to be on call 24/7 on my days off and be asked to do something last minute when its close to bed time....

When we picked up in Aurora it was a newer trailer... So no need to have anything fixed at the terminal... But I did wave as we drove by :)

If you run at night make sure your lights are all functioning properly, watch your speed, and signal well in advance of lane changes.

haven't posted in a few days. I'm still trying to get out to Texas for that target account but I keep getting sent in the wrong direction with the promise that the next load is going to TX, but then when we get there the next load either disapears or gets put on the wrong truck. The DM knows that I need to go out there. I'm just gonna turn down loads going the wrong direction from now even if they say it will get me to another load that goes to Texas.

Hopefully once we are officially on that account this won't happen again. The DM's at the target dc said we are still welcome there. I just have to get there, so now the Mac 9 game begins. We will see what we get next.

Put in a hometime request putting the Texas city as the hometime location. That puts a bit of pressure on the planners to get you there.

Once you're on a dedicated account, there is no such thing as "accrued hometime", so don't worry about the day used.

I'm officially based out of Jonestown, and requested Houston for some hometime (a good friend lives near there). The route went SC -> FL -> LA -> CO -> UT -> TX, but I did get there. That "wrong direction" may well be where the load to TX originates.
