Well, I've got fun.

A Costco load to Burnsville for home time.
And when I come back I will have my youngest daughter Lorelei on board with me for a month or so.

 

Well, I'm home.

I got a rude wake up call this morning at 0400 from a DM in Manteno asking why I wasn't driving yet when I had full hours.
Well, I'm still asleep.

My Costco load is a day late, I guess they had no drivers to get it there on time. It was given to me a day late.
I set my delivery at 1000 this morning, but this guy didn't like that time so he harassed me to get it there sooner.
I said goodby and hung up.

I got there at 0930 and it was busy. I had to wait 2 hours because they had not yet unloaded the trailer I was supposed to take out.
When I asked about getting there earlier she said I would still have waited until the same time.

 

Yeah i dont dont pay much attention too DMs i dont know. They are usually always wrong or full of it. Or both.

I had been planning for my daughter to get on the truck with me at this home time, but now that is not possible.
The new requirements for minor riders are a lot harder and take a lot longer to arrange.
A copy of the divorce papers showing custody is now required, as well as a notarized letter from her mother saying she can ride with me and a copy of her drivers license.
Leah will have to contact the court in CO to get a copy because after so long we don't have it. She will have to make the request in writing and pay the fees.

This used to be so simple and quick, and I can only think it is because Knight complicated everything to such an extent. She has been on the truck with me before, a couple times. I don't see why all this is necessary.

 

Human trafficking is why. There is a big effort now to stop it. They want to make sure you have legal custody her at that time or you are not just trafficking a child. How many times do you read about kids being taken by their mom custodial parent or traffickers being arrest.

 

Around midnight last night I found my copy of the divorce papers. I had it after all.
Leah came over before noon today to supply everything she needed to and I got everything sent to my DM.
She sent it to Phoenix, and hopefully it will be approved by the time I go back Thursday morning.

Within 2 hours I had the approval. Faster than I had thought possible, all things considered.

got back from vacation yesterday afternoon and spent rest of the day moving into another international truck.
today I helped with Costco loads.
did 2 trips. 1st one was in Irvine ca for a 0600 appt and 2nd was in la mesa ca for a 1030 appt. both were drop and hook.
both were over 50thousand lbs., so had to grab an overweight permit for truck
tomorrow I am back on the relay and picking up in Ontario ca anytime b4 1600 tomorrow
leave here at 0600 and get to beaver ut around 1600.
had a good week of fishing.
now time to get back to work so I can go again next year
