About half a mile on the other side of I-88. A former Central terminal.

No, I am dry van only. Only, only ONLY!!!
I don't like refer hours, nor the constant vibration. Both drive me nuts.

Planners are hard to believe sometimes.

This Sam's load delivers tomorrow, and the pplan I was sent set me up for this:
D&H at Sam's, then 400 miles mt for a live load near Chicago by 1600. (A day late on the pickup, by the way.)
Then deliver over 200 miles away to the Cabela's in Prairie Du Chien, WI by 2300 that night.
No special comments from the planner either, just the pplan.

2 drops and a live load with over 600 miles to drive, and not all on fast roads, all within 14 hours.?!

I ignored it, of course, because any written reply would have had comments about things that planners should be checked more often for.

A couple accidents around Minneapolis area today, both slowing me down and both involving a big rig.

On I-494 there was a smashed up car, and just up ahead of that was a tanker truck with the right rear tire area all messed up.
It looked like one or both drivers made a merging mistake.
And it looked like that tandem went right over the car.

The one on I-35 was an overturned truck on the other side of the road, and not affecting my side at all - except for the people that slowed everything down to 15mph to get a good look.
That truck was on the right side in the northbound lane. Possibly a blown steer tire from the tracks it left.
Up and down, then over on its side.

This is supposed to be a very heavy traffic weekend.
Take your time, and stay safe out there.

    dptrucker Thanks this.

Oak Grove, MO at the TA.
My drop at Costco in Kansas City turned into a 4.5+ hour live unload because they had both other trailers loaded up with pallets and other stuff.
They had to clear the area to make room for my stuff, which took them a long time.

That burned out my 14 so I didn't have time to pick up my next load today.
I really feel sorry for that next driver that had to wait on me. I'm wondering if he is still sitting there several hours later.

No matter for me in the long run.
Preloaded Walmart DC to Walmart DC with plenty of time for delivery.

Probably took so long because you weren't a scheduled live load. I've always found Costco to be the most efficient. Two hours in and out max. Exactly how it played out for me last Wednesday.

On the other hand don't be late for a live unload. Costco won't work you in. You leave and come back when they reschedule you.

That was often my coming off home time to get a trailer load, when I was running out of Lathrop. Deliver a Costco that had been sitting in the yard for a week or a month for a reschedule, because the driver was late.

No, I arrived at 1340 for my 1400 scheduled delivery - which was supposed to be a drop, not live.
They didn't have an mt trailer. One had pallets and one had other stuff in it.
I was told if I didn't want to take the pallet load I would have to wait for a live unload, and their people were not in yet and it would take some time to clear the dock area before they could unload me.

And that happens probably 40-50% of the time with these Costco loads out of Owatonna because the stores are expecting me to be a dedicated driver that is headed right back to Owatonna.

That place is a joke, both for loads going in and loads going out.
Half the loads scheduled to go out get cancelled at the last minute, and many of the drop loads going in they say are live unloads and I am late.
When I do drop a load there they will not let me leave with an mt.
They waste so many hours of my time, but I always seem to get stuck in their little circle of madness.
I am at the point now that I actively avoid loads delivering to them.

    misquite nv at flying j.
left jurupa terminal at 0600 for beaver ut
got 2 miles north of primn nv when j blew a trailer tire.
truck shows up about 1hr45m later and got done pretty quick
stopped at loves in cedar city to get fuel and worker comes by and said they are resetting the fuel system due to lumps being slow
said it me about 5 minutes.
15 minutes later I just left.
finally made it to beaver ut at 1730 and switched loads.
hoped they give me the flying j there for fuel, but nope.... loves again.
so drove straight here and get fuel in the mornimg.
fuel guage is just above the 1/8 mark.

In most of the trucks I have had, 1/8 is about 1/4 in reality.

Sounds like a long and tiring day though.
