That might be assuming that you want to go back on duty as soon as possible after shutting down?

A short day for me is just more time off for my break, and not a reason to get up after 10 hours and start again in the wee hours.
I sleep at night, drive during the day.

My FM/DM called this morning to tell me that they were having a hard time getting the new trucks out to Menasha.
I was close to Columbus so I t-called a load there and was able to pick up my new million mile truck.
It is nearly 2000 here and I am not that close to being moved over yet, but I am in my new truck tonight and just about to start some dinner.

The layout is completely different and it will take some getting used to. It has a larger fridge and some very nice cabinets, but still I am having a hard time finding a place for everything.

2023 Cascadia, with the Detroit driveline, black cherry in color.
This is that real nice deep, dark red.
I can't wait to get it out on the highway, but I've still got a lot of moving to do.

Well, the Zonar in my new truck is acting up.
It can't receive messages. Shortly after reporting I was told that the entire system was down in that respect.
A call to Zonar didn't help and they said I would have to call the Mobilecom Swift people about it, and they do not work weekends.
If it is still down in the morning I will see if the shop here can do anything with it.

Very nice truck, but the storage space is not quite as good as the LT. I'll make due.
I used PC to get to a Walmart today and it drives really nice. Although, it looks like I don't have PassSmart in this truck. I'll ask about that as well.
The interior lighting is very nice, and I have Optimized Idle now. That should help with my high idle times.

dwells40, dptrucker and JOHNQPUBLIC Thank this.

The shop fixed the PassSmart, as far as I know, and took care of a small wheel hub leak. They couldn't do anything about the Zonar so I'll have to call MobileComm in the morning.

And now I have an active malfunction in Zlogs saying I have to use paper logs.
That happened shortly after I got it out of the shop and logged back in.
They did some software updates, so that might have messed something up.

I'm sure glad I have been sitting with all this messing up. Being on the road would have an even bigger headache.

    dptrucker Thanks this.

Got everything working and that active malfunction cleared itself up after a day of driving.

The only load out of Columbus had a live unload at 2030 at the other end to a grocery DC in WI.
I got there at 1810, hoping for the best. Which did happen.
I was given a door when I got there and was out at around 2030 - even with the lumpers.

Then I headed for a Kwik Trip 10 miles away and got the last spot.
    Pretty good day.

Tomorrow I'm headed to Menasha to take have pictures taken with my million mile truck.
It will probably be raining, so we'll see how that goes.

    dptrucker and dwells40 Thank this.
