I've only been to Florida a few times.
From what I remember the roads are pretty nice, nice scenery, but parking can be a bit scarce.

And I'm near Kalamazoo, MI tonight with no pplan yet.

I had a couple of them yesterday. I turned down the first because it would have stranded me late at night with no place to park in Flint.
This afternoon the second pplan was removed.
I always thought that turning down the first in a stacked would void both of them, but this time it did not seem to.
I guess I could have accepted that second one at any time, but...

Tomorrow I am likely stuck here because of high winds. 55mph gusts from 0800 - 2000 is forecast for this area.
I wouldn't risk that fully loaded, much less empty.

I picked up a load yesterday at the New Boston terminal and it delivered this morning in Wyoming, MI near Grand Rapids.

When I picked it up there were 2 BOL's with different addresses, but my load assignment only had the final as a destination.
I called to see if there should have been another stop added to my load, and after about half an hour CSR finally came back with an answer.
That stop had delivered before it t-called and the final was my only stop.

When I got there they looked at the packing list in the trailer and it was for the previous stop.
It was still in the trailer, and the customer said there was no way they were going to offload that whole trailer to get to their stuff.
I pulled away from the dock and parked it, then I spoke with the DM that was working it yesterday.
It was another 3 hours before they decided to have me take the trailer to Gary and t-call it so I could pick up my next load.

    Gotta love planners.

My first pplan had me on a load with a late evening live unload that would run out my 14, so I turned it down.
The second, the same planner was trying to send me to South Carolina. I am GLR and don't do SC, so I turned it down.
I waited 1.5 hours after my delivery to get sent back the first pplan, which was even more impossible than the first time.

The next one I could do, if on a tight time schedule.
But when I got to the shipper there was no one there.
No cars in the parking lot and all the driver doors locked. The phone number didn't work.
After calling my DM I went to the nearest truck stop, and luckily found a spot to park.
And after some more time I was told by CSR that the load is ready and I didn't need to check in with anyone, just grab the paperwork in the back of the trailer and go with it.

There were no directions or instructions to that effect with this load, and I told her so. As we spoke she was writing new instructions for the notes section of the load assignments.

I'll have to start a bit early, but I can still pick it up in the morning and make my first stop on time.

Northfield, MN on a Costco load to Fargo, ND.

There was a message earlier that any drivers around MN should expect to be running Costco loads out of Owatonna.
It seems they are very backed up on loads, and such an important account.

After Fargo I'm headed back to Owatonna for a shorter run to St. Cloud, MN.
Both of them are late already.

I don't mind getting a Costco load now and then, but extended stays in this area I do not like.
Too hard to get a shower or to get laundry done. I need both right now, and no joy.

In my opinion Swift really blew it when they shut down the Inver Grove terminal (except for the drop lot) and abandoned all the good accounts we had around here to join up with Costco.

And Costco really blew it putting a DC in Owatonna, where there are so few drivers available.
They have added Werner, but they still seem to come up short.

    jackoboyo and dptrucker Thank this.
