The huge storm in Gary never came to be. There was some big wet snow and some wind, but not really that much.

Finally got my truck done this afternoon. Freightliner sent the wrong headlight this morning so someone went to pick up the correct one.
And I finally have a bunk heater.
I won't know if they turned on the PasSmart until I get back out there.

I have a load out of here but it doesn't deliver until Monday. That leaves me with about 800 miles for this week.
I'll get a couple days of breakdown pay, but it will be one of my worst weeks ever.

    dptrucker Thanks this.

They turned on my PasSmart, so that makes me happy.

This load was not set up as a t-call and just listed Swift as the shipper.
There was no paperwork with it and it took over 2 hours to get a copy.
Even then, the consignee address was different as was the seal number. It took another hour to be told the load was OK to deliver at the address on my load assignment.

    3 hours wasted.

I picked up a load at Cargill in Hutchinson, KS today, and the guy in shipping was pretty upset when I checked in to get the paperwork.

It seems there is an arrangement with Swift that, with preloaded trailers, Swift is e-mailed the BOL and then it is Swift's responsibility to get it to the driver.
That way the driver can go straight to the lot to drop the empty and pick up the loaded without contacting (bothering?) anyone.

It's the first I have heard of it, but this guy was pretty upset that Swift drops the ball every single time.
There is nothing in the notes about this arrangement, and nothing mentioned in the directions.

I'm not sure how I could get a paper copy of the BOL without taking the extra time to get to a truck stop, getting the fax number and having it faxed to me.
That would sure negate any time I saved at the shipper, and then some.

It would seem a better solution to leave a copy of the BOL in the bill box on the trailer, but... ... I guess that is too simple.

I just went to the NASCAR site and the #7 was running 2nd.
Clicked on Justin's name, went back to the board and he was in 22nd and under yellow.

But very cool if Swift is sponsoring the 07.

He is down a lap running at 35 out of 38.
The 7 is back up to 10th.

And here I thought Swift chose a good driver to sponsor.
1 top 10 and 2 laps led in his, so far, short career.

Who knows... maybe he will turn into something great in a few years.

I just noticed this: He is also a three-time NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series champion.
So maybe there is some potential there.
