9am live load here at the new skechers warehouse.
nav didnt have it pinned so i just put adress in.. o ly put me on street.
google earth just showed a feild.
so i foumd their websitr and used their google map directiion which had me get off at 10e ex 103. next exit feom what nav said.
saw the warehouse as i drlve by and their directions were wrong.
so now i get to gp thru banning scales.
and of coutse i get pulled im for aa lwvel 1 inspection.
passed that and went the nav route.
fimnaly made it.
delivers to omtario ca as soon as they are dome

 

F’n Banning scales-they don’t know how to take a day off!

 

Talk about a slow weekend.
I delivered Saturday morning at 0900 and my next load isn't until Monday with a Tuesday morning delivery.
Less than 300 miles.

pjcked loadup at terminal for a 0900 live unload at costco down the street from here
then back to.termimal to get a load to.drop at walmart dc in fontana ca.
trailer number on bol was one number off.
so i checked bol#, p.o. number and seal number and they all matched.
i tried to change the seven to a nine but was too small.
so i just crossef number off and.wrote the.correct number.
when i got to the gate they had a problem with it.
wanted an email with correct numbers.
so.finally was.able to.get csr on the phone

waited 1.5 hrs with no other contact and guard came over and said it was taking too long. that i had to leave.

dl said to tcall it back at termimal and do.the last load.
pick up in irvine ca and deliver to albertsons with a 1830 live umload.
got ro albertsons 3 hrs early , so parked aroumd the corner
walked over to see how early i can go in and they said no deliveries on the weekends
great. glad i walked.over.
tcalled that back to terminal.
the walmart csr fimally got back to me at 1630 and said the email was sent back.
so walked.over to dispatvh and told him and he got the corrected b.o.l..
so.went and redelivered that load.
fun day lol.

I had one like that a couple days ago.
My load assignment had the right trailer number but the shipper got it wrong.
I didn't leave until they corrected the number on the BOL.

Numbers that don't match will always be a problem at the receiver.

Your load should never have shipped with the wrong trailer number on the BOL, and you should never have taken it out of the terminal - much less altered the number yourself.

 

My laptop died last night. Very upsetting.

I had a live unload in Urbana, IL this morning at 0600. They didn't finish until around 1000.

There was a Costco 2 miles away so I was able to get a new laptop before my next pickup.
I love the laptop, a MSI Raider GE76, but now I am stuck with Windows 11 until I can get Linux Mint installed again.

(Edit: I just looked this computer up, and the price at Costco was actually very good.
The price on Amazon for this laptop, with the I9 processor that I have, is $1,869.
The Costco price was $1,150.)

 

That La Habra Ralphs bakery is the biggest in Southern California....I just found out that not only does Ralphs bakery make bread for its stores but also for Walmart & Winco Foods

As a Ralphs truck driver who goes in there to pick up trailers I was surprised.

Kroger (Ralphs) is merging with Albertsons, Vinson & Safeway to fight Walmart, Target & Amazon in the grocery business and we are making bread for Walmart...

How Ironic ....I guess business is business

 

I'm near Dayton, OH today and as usual recently on the weekends the load offers are not good.

Today is Saturday, by the way, and my PTA was 0900 this morning.
After more than 6 hours I got a pplan picking up at 2030 Monday night, delivering the first stop at 0800 Tuesday morning - about 180 miles away.
Turned that down because of the wonky hours.

The next one I also turned down. It was already late and would put me down near TN and way out of my region.

The third one I would do.
A t-called load picking up tomorrow at Columbus with a delivery of 0900 near Detroit, MI Monday at 0900.

Bad loads all around, but holding off for something a little better paid off.

 

I'm getting home tomorrow, right on time, and it will be nice to be home again.

Even nicer to be able to install Linux again.
I found a nice 2TB WD SSD at Walmart to install it on.

It won't be Mint this time. It is a different distro called POP.
Mint has a problem when there is a Nvidia graphics chip installed and makes you run through hoops to install it. POP has a download that includes the Nvidia drivers and makes it easy.
I'm not crazy about the standard desktop POP comes with, but I can install the Cinnamon desktop that I like. Cinnamon is more like Windows 7.
