East St. Louis, IL.
I t-called a load at the drop lot here, and as usual there are no empties. We are always sent to the St. Louis terminal to either drop or pick up an empty.
The trailer solution I was sent is deadheading me to TN, around 500 miles away to the final destination of the load I t-called.
After this last week I certainly could use the miles, but...

They did that to/for us back in 2010 when freight was light. Had us dead heading around and moving mt trailers, just to get us some miles.Moosetek13 and dptrucker Thank this.

I've done trailer moves like that to get repositioned, but this time I had a load to pick up the next day about a mile from the St. Louis terminal.
Something must have glitched in the computer and maybe it thought I delivered to the final destination. -
Liberty, MO.
I have a load with an open delivery window of 3/1 0700 to 3/4 0700 at a Ford plant.
I got there this morning at 0900 (Sunday, 3/3) only to find them closed.
I'm not the only one, either. A couple other trucks were sitting nearby on the road and a bobtail came in as I was there to pick up a load.
I came to the QT across the highway. The place is packed and I'm not in a marked space, but in the middle of several trucks parked next to the scale.
I'm wondering how many of these trucks are also Ford deliveries.
Tomorrow morning will probably not be fun.dptrucker Thanks this. -
I am a bit surprised, considering the loads I have been sent to get me here, but I actually got home on my requested day this time.
Home again, home again.
The one that got me here from Mosinee, WI was an empty trailer move to Westrock in St. Paul.
I was a bit concerned because I had a 1200 live unload today, and there are very few loads that could get me home from there.
The last 2 home times I was 2 days late, which nixed any plans I had made. So I'm very happy this worked out. -
I forgot to switch off the battery so I went to my truck this morning. It barely started. I doubt it will start when I come back from home time Sunday.
I'm going to try using my little NOCO battery jumper that I have for my car. Just wondering what will happen.
I'll hook it up and let it charge the batteries, but I'm not going to leave it connected when I try to start the truck. It would be bad if trying to draw too much current blew up the NOCO. I'll just leave it connected until it runs out of charge, then disconnect and see if the truck will start. -
When I got back to the truck the batteries were at 11V and the truck would not start.
The NOCO was not able to give it enough charge so I had to call for a jump.dptrucker Thanks this. -

i saw your last report on saturday so i didmt comment.
next time try runnimg the engine for 45 mimutes then shut everythimg down.
my truck got low on juice and thats what i did
came back to truck couple.days later and it started -
It's time for new batteries.
I had it in the shop a few months ago when it started getting bad. They replaced 1 battery of the 4.
They always just do the bare minimum, and then make me waste time and money going in yet again.
I can use opti-idle when I am in the truck, but I can't do that when I go home.
Some setting changed the last time it was in the shop. The truck wants a regen much more often now. Trouble is, it won't start the regen automatically like it did before. Now it just shuts off the engine.dptrucker Thanks this.
