I had a trailer tire blow out on the way to a delivery today.
I got off the phone with on-road at 1100, who told me that the repair truck would be there in 60-90 minutes.
So I went in the bunk to get comfortable. At 1120 I felt some shaking, looked out and the repair guy was taking off the blown tire.
He never let me know that he had arrived, just started working on the tire. He was about to put a new tire on when I told him I had a spare.
I'm pretty sure Swift would have told him to use my spare, and I think he was hoping to get the new one mounted before I noticed.

All in all, I only lost 1 hour of time for a roadside repair. Not bad at all.

    dwells40 and dptrucker Thank this.

Glad you made it OK. That area can be as bad as Wyoming at times.

I got back from home time last week and the loads were really nice and I made some good miles.
This week is just the opposite. 2-300 miles each, and that is not even per day.

I did around 2100 miles last week. When I deliver this load tomorrow afternoon (Thursday) I will have around 750 for the week so far.

It's so nice that I really don't need the money.

Yup, a pretty bad week. I got around 900 miles.

My next load has more miles, from Gary to Lakeville, MN, but I had to wait a day to pick it up.
And there is a big snow storm tomorrow between here and there, so I will lose another day for that.
6-14 inches forecast for Sunday through Sunday night. I won't get very far tomorrow.

My TM gave me $100 each extra pay for the last two loads, so that helps.

    dptrucker Thanks this.

    Menomonie, WI.

86 miles from my final is where I decided to shut down. I'll end up being 2 hours late, mainly because I don't want to start driving in the morning until it is light enough to see the roads. They may still have slick spots from this storm and I don't want to take chances.

Multiple (dozens of) crashes and spun out vehicles around the Minneapolis metro area right now, so I'm glad I stopped here.

I am stacked with 2 pplans with decent miles, so this week is looking much better.

    Frustrating delivery in Kalamazoo today.
I had to go to an off-site lot for an mt. Not so bad, but the first one ended up having a lot of water in the nose so I could not use it.
A couple more had flat tires.
Hooked to the fourth choice, got it all swept out and went to adjust the tandems.
That one had the air release for the tandems, and the pins would not fully retract so I could not move them.

The fifth trailer, a 13 series way in the back, turned out to be OK. It was even clean aside from a few scraps of paper at the doors.
I had not noticed the full trailer number until I did my empty call... 137666 - a devil trailer.

What makes this really weird is the trailer I swapped that one for at the next shipper.
    Trailer 133666.

    Double 13's, and double 666's.
What are the odds in that?!
