my switch ppartner thinks its legal to hit the split berth button.
do the 2 hr break.. drive back to lathrop terminal. then go off duty for a ten.
told him 8hr has to be sleeper and he says not true.
he said he done it that way since the new rule changed.
i am thinking when he does that he gets back to terminal and logs off before his original 14 would be up.

    dwells40 Thanks this.

Does logging out change the conditions of the rule?

No clue myself. I have never done a split and don't even really understand it.
Probably because I like a nice long uninterrupted break instead of interrupted piece meal.

wouldnt think so. fiigure it would come back on with the last entry you logged on.
    dont like split either.
but only way to get back to jurupa terminal.
i normally do a full ten but havve to put 8 hrs of it in sleeper
why i slept in truck instead of going home

    Moosetek13 Thanks this.

    Vandalia, OH at the J.

    Very long day today.
I had a 1000 live unload at the Meijer nearby this morning. 9 hours later they finally finished.
Then I still had to drive nearly 30 miles to drop my mt at another customer before I could come here to shut down.
I ended up with 13 minutes left on my 14. Got here at about 2030.

My next load was supposed to pick up early this afternoon and deliver by this evening near the New Boston terminal, but now that can't happen until tomorrow.

And the kicker is, Meijer knew it would take 9 hours to unload me, but said nothing to anyone.
I know they knew because after 8 hours I was calling to try and get a status. A guard came out to talk to me, told me there were 3 pallets left and she had seen the projected unload time of 9 hours on their board.

    dptrucker and dwells40 Thank this.
