The planner told me to drop my mt at that other place and then bobtail to my next pickup.
Well, they require an mt or no go. So I had to go back out and find an mt. I wasn't the only driver to be sent there bobtail, only to be turned away.
We may have picked up a new account in that area and the planners are trying to populate the place with empty trailers. Bum deal for the drivers, trying to find another mt around there.
I got to my next delivery and they had no empty trailers, so I used the Find a Trailer app. I was headed to a place with a few and then I was dispatched bobtail to my next load.
This one worked out fine and I was able to pick it up on time.
Can't deliver on time because of my hours and the tight times with that place, but that is also par for the course for that place.
All drops on the other end, and it doesn't really matter when we deliver.

I got to my delivery and was told no empty trailers available. Oh well.
As I was dropping a yard jockey came around with an mt for me. So lucky me.
My next load picked up at the Costco in Morris, IL.
Set to be picked up yesterday but no trailer number yet.
When I finally got the trailer number it was intermodal, so i had to be taken off the load.
Then a planner sends me two pplans.
The first is picking up a t-called load in Manteno that delivered 100 miles away at 0530 tomorrow morning. I could not get to Manteno until 1800 tonight, so I countered with a 0800 delivery. The other plan I accepted.
The planner calls me and says that she wants me to do both loads. I tell her that I can not make the 0530 appointment, and I can tell she is frustrated but she removes that load.
I kept the second one.
But a lot of wasted time because Costco used an intermodal trailer for a DC to DC load and didn't list it as intermodal, and didn't include the trailer number in the plan.
Then the planner thinking she could slip in a load that I could not possibly deliver on time, to a live unload that is by appointment only.dptrucker Thanks this. -
Going to be a pretty bad weekend for miles.
I delivered Friday with a 1230 PTA. My next load picks up 80 miles away Saturday at 1230 and delivers on Sunday right back here in North Canton, OH.
A whopping 150 miles for 2 days.
No doubt they will be yelling about my idle time, again.dptrucker Thanks this. -
I delivered that load to N. Canton at the Sam's DC Sunday then headed for the Love's.
Just after I got there I was sent a pplan picking up at the same place and delivering to a Sam's in Erie, PA later today.
That put my total weekend miles to around 300.
It's just a little bit out of my region and no next load yet. We'll see what comes up next. -

What is a 3pl?
I was stacked with 2 loads. The first from near Buffalo, NY to PA, then from PA to Indiana on the 10th.
My home time is set for the 12th so I will be looking for something getting me there from that point. -
I ended up in Oconomowoc, WI with a Target load.
There was an accident at the truck entrance so I got stuck sitting there until it was cleaned up, around 45 minutes.
My DM called to tell me about a load home that was killing two birds with one stone.
Another driver also needed home time near there and was on a load to Menomonie, WI, so I needed to find a place to park until he could get it to me.
I was told he would get it there at around noon the next day (today), then we could both head home.
Well he didn't get it there until 1400, which made my day rather late.
I finally got home at 2101, but on my requested home time date.dwells40 Thanks this. -
Got back to the truck after home time with no loads, so I've been sitting here at the Inver Grove yard all day.
2 pplans, both with unreasonable times. I sent counter offers but they were both taken off.
A live load in St. Paul tomorrow morning at 0800, delivering by 0800 the next morning 600 miles away in Indiana at 0800 for a live unload.
A live load 300 miles away in IA at 2000 tonight, delivering 250 miles away in MO at 1130 tomorrow for a live unload.
The people that plan loads like that should be fired.dwells40 Thanks this. -

Pick up at 0800, get out of there at around 1000.
Can't do that 600 miles in 10 hours because much of it is on US 30, so slower roads, not to mention Chicago traffic.
Add in the hour time zone difference.
Mac 22 is for unforeseen delays, not delays that I already know about. And being a live unload at the other end I would probably have to wait to be rescheduled.
They can schedule it that tight on time if they want to, but I won't be taking the heat or doing the load.
Not when it is so easy to factor in a little wiggle room with the times.dwells40 Thanks this.
