I always get a thermos of coffee and a sandwich or salad for dinner so it doesn't matter where I stay,lol....a toilet helps sway any decisions tho......unless the desert or the woods....get my drift?

Yup.
I don't use a thermos, just a mug for my morning cup to help me wake up.
And while I do have food enough on the truck, I still like a decent rest room to freshen up.
I'll make do when absolutely necessary, but I'll always try to do things on my own terms.
Plus, I'm doing a 34 - which means at least a day and a half sitting in the same place. And it's NOT (hopefully) going to be at a Walmart DC!
And, it's not. I found someplace better in the nick of time. -
well first load was a pain, get close to the store and the street I would of turned down was closed due to some big event that had cars and people everywhere, went to the next street and was able to make it into the dock area but I had to drop my trailer where it made a lot of 4wheelers angry but ohwell they should use the streets and not the dock areas to drive around. The biggest pain was trying to move around with tons of kids and cars flying by me nonstop and the way everything was setup I ended up having to do a partial blind back into the dock. When checking the sweep trailer it had the wrong color seal and no paperwork anywhere to be found so I try calling around and there is nobody manning the swift desk plus I wasnt given a direct phone number on top of that. Finally getting ahold of dispatch he gave me the permission to break the seal and make sure its a sweep of pallets and boxes and not the load that was delivered before and he contacted the store to find that paperwork for me, over a hour later I was finally able to take off but the exit near the front of the docks was closed to one way traffic heading towards that event so I had to be very careful and do a tight uturn then dodge cars going back out the exit I came in.
The person doing the planning sent me a message saying he is aware of me being in a sleeper and will try his best to find me doable stores but said he does not know these stores yet. It looks like the fleet was manned by all day cabs from what I was able to see. So far this favor isnt paying off much, 240 miles or so today plus it took a couple extra hours with all the traffic on the 15 so will see how tomorrow goes.
I was going to shut down at the fontana truck stop but decided to just sleep at the winco that is within a mile where I saw a bunch of other trucks parking. -
Finally got a load picking up in West Branch, IA. Now waiting for service at the Iowa 80 for a flat tire and a destroyed brake lining on the trailer. So much for my plan to get to final and take my break before delivery. Got lined up with 2 more loads after this one to take me back south.

I was thinking of you. I started my shift at 6:00 pm last night in Santa Rosa and made it to our changeover in Lake Havasu at the Love's at 6:00 am.
I hope you weren't taking a 10 in LHC, too dang hot. I checked in predawn hours coming westbound:
Petro east of Kingman - 4200' elevation and 57ºF
Kingman Flying J - 3400' elevation and 66ºF
Rest Stop between Kingman and LHC - 1700' elevation and 63ºF
LHC - 1000' elevation and 70ºF
If you were headed eastbound and had enough hours it would have been best to make it east of Kingman, to higher elevation, or stop at the rest stop at higher elevation in California. If headed westbound I'd have stopped short at the Petro or tried to get on through to that rest stop in CA (another 50 miles past LHC). Higher elevation is the ticket.scottied67 Thanks this. -
I had expected some argument and friction with my decision to take a 34, but it didn't happen.
I was sent a load picking up just after my 34 ended, heading to the Target DC in Pueblo, CO.
Hopefully, there is a load out from there.
I like that DC though. They are one of the easy ones to get in and out of.dptrucker Thanks this. -

You all receive the message on how to "properly" take your 34 hour resets? Or in other words to never take them. Looks like you'll start getting complaints from dispatch now anytime you want to take a 34. I've been running on 3 hours left on my 70 for 4 days now, just barely getting enough hours back each day, but I have just enough hours coming back to me to pick up this next load and deliver it back near home for my home time.

Sitting at the Iowa 80 waiting for s-cam bushings for the trailer to be available tomorrow. When I picked up the trailer it had two bad tires, bad brakes at one wheel, a blown brake chamber, and the s-cam bushings on all four brakes were bad. Two days of lost revenue because people won't do a pretrip or get problems fixed.
Lady K Thanks this.
