Got here to York, PA for my preloaded pick up at around 1400. The window was all day from midnight.
Well, they are running a bit behind and my load won't be ready until at least 0200 tomorrow morning.
There were 5-6 Swift drivers pulling in as I was leaving; I wonder if they'll have to wait as well.

Not many places to park around there so I headed for the Walmart, 16 miles away, in Hanover as it was the closest that allowed night parking (according to my GPS, hope it's right).
I figure I'll pick up the load at 0530 or so. It's around 460 miles to the final with a window until midnight, and my next load that gets me into Columbus, OH has similar windows.

idiots, I take my 10 at the store once delivered if im low on time.
We had a new guy recently who thought it would be ok to drive 3 hours past his 14 since he decided for his 30min break it would be better to take a few hours...

    Alvada, OH.
Once I delivered my load and did the e-call I had 20 minutes left on my 70, 6 minutes when I got here to a little truck stop on US 24.

I was supposed to pick up a load, but no more time.
Preloaded, though, so I can get it tomorrow with no problems. 50 miles there and another 50 miles to Columbus for delivery, then it's over to the terminal for a b-service.
Finally. Another 100 miles or so and I would be on maintenance hold.

    Columbus, OH at the terminal.
    Well, so to speak.

I put my truck in for a b-service. They told me it would be tomorrow morning before they got to me, so I went to Super-8 for the night.
Just as I got there I got a text that my truck was finished.

How do you do a b-service in under 2 hours, when I was several trucks back in line?
Add to that, my truck also had a recall for the slack adjusters. That is at least another hour or so to fix.

I called my DM. He told me that my truck was out of the shop, but it still needed repairs. That is what it said on the computer.
??? What exactly does THAT mean?
He could not contact the shop for further information - they were not answering the phone.

Meanwhile, I am in a nice room. I'll call before checkout time in the morning to try and find out what the heck is going on.

The Columbus terminal has 3 separate shops. One for B services, one for truck repairs, one for trailer repairs. Having the separate shop for B services, they get them done very quickly (I always try to get my B service done in Columbus). But then your truck has to go to the truck shop for mechanical repairs (the slack adjusters).

So will they send it over to the other shop for the repairs, or will I have to do it myself?
I spent the money for a motel room so I would not have to idle the truck for the day. If I have to go back just to put the truck in another shop for extra repairs... what a pain in the a%#!

Having multiple shops might be good for some things, but I like a 'one stop shop'.
