I've done 2 long distance trailer repos, Colorado Springs to Fontana and Salt Lake City to Phoenix, paid loaded miles and fuel rebate both times.

Some loads are really worth fighting against.

it just always pissed me off that I have never tcalled a load without a scale but I sure have picked up plenty of them without one....dont see how that works.
Another long day, 2 days in a row close to 14 hours, now sitting and relaxing eating some Salmon and rice I cooked in the oven. Tomorrow heading to Tulare then Salinas, originally only had the Salinas but when I was sitting in the office getting my paperwork caught up I listened to the ect's trying to figure out who to give a couple loads to, I was like "ummm I could do it you know" so I got one of them added which will give me around 10 hours drive time tomorrow instead of 8. -
Besides the weight factor (I admit I didn't weigh it instead going on experience) what happens if the California bug station actually takes a close look at what paperwork there was? I don't if hay is on California's list of products that have to be inspected and I didn't want to find out (the HARD way). Last time I delivered a Mexican load without an English BOL I got knocked off accelerated pay because Phoenix couldn't figure out what I had scanned.
It's 6:30 am here in El Paso and I may not bother waiting til check out time. -
Day cab drivers seem to get away with it in certain areas and Trans Mex NEVER scales loads they bring out of Mexico. In Laredo you have to scale a California load BEFORE you get the paperwork and get dispatched with it. El Paso routinely dumps everything on the driver who accepts the Mexican load from the yard. There is a scale in the El Paso yard but it was nearly 100 degrees when I was there yesterday and I didn't see the point of wasting my time. Last time I took a 42K load to California that was loaded to the back doors (pallets) I ended up with the tandems 4 pins past the CA setting and timing it to go past the Banning scales in the dark. Had Banning not green-lighted me I might have been toast.

I just took a hay load to Coalinga from Twin Falls. The dispatch instructions said not to fuel before loading so of course I topped off. It was 43360 and scaled 12000 32400 33160 and I got 7.6mpg. Why didn't you take it and tcall in Phoenix?
My longest paid trailer repo was Colorado Springs to Lancaster paid loaded miles. Load planners special (aka bend over and grab em) said Lancaster was way overbooked and hurting for equipment and drivers so I helped out and got a Command load on the way. -
castaic ca. taking my 30 break. so overbooked down here have no preplan yet. got one yesterday, but had a 0800 del for tomorrow and really didnt know what time i get down here. so added few hourrs and was taken off me. oh well. i"ll get to millers and do all the mac 1,2,3&4. if i dont get one by then, i'll just do a 34 reset since i need to get meds refilled and a haircut lol

At Denver picking up a load to Sacramento. This terminal is worse than ever.

jurupa valley terminal. got to miller and did all the required stuff. put pta for 06/24 0700. sat there outside their gate and ate my dinner i got in castaic. then ran over here. sat and wayched the last half of us soccer game when they sent me a preplan that picks up in long beach 2 hrs from now and delivers at target in wookland ca at 1300 06/23. only had 2 hrs left on clock. did a mac 34 to check pta and someone changed it back to today. kinda pissed me off since its not the 1st time its been done. so walked into dispatch and told them i was doing a 34 reset and had put it in the empty call. they changed it back where i had it. they asked why i declined it. said cause i only have 2 hrs left and no time to get it and back here. told them next time dont wait till the last minute. they also detached me from mt i had. my dl told me last week he needed to do a talk with me next timee i'm down here, so i'll go in there in the morning to see what the win-win thing is. then i'll have him take my hometime request for next weekend off and change it to the 4th of july weekend. i put in the request in b4 i got this last load and had to get my meds. now i can do it tomorrow and then have the 4th weekend for some fun.
