Is that a cabela load? Often on the last one in a multi stop u swap trailers....and most cabelas have truck parking on site...maybe not a bathroom, coffee of food but parking.....

Unless I'm in the Jonestown planning area I rarely get a decent load from Swift anymore. Lancaster has gone completely off the reservation as far as loads ...

My numbers say I'm having my best year to date, so far ... but yet I feel that Swift is holding me back. Generally poor loads from Swift and can't get the revenue from Command that was there last year - especially when rates have been steadily going up.

man the winds on the 15 were horrible tonight, had to slow a few times due to lack of visibility of dirt in the air and it throwing my trailer around with only 14k in the box, managed a whole 7.1mpg even with a very light load coming back according to the qc

I wanted to laugh at the person I dealt with at the CA inspection station "you pulling for Target?" ummm no I like to put the big words of Target with the symbol on my trailers for the hell of it...

When I was with my mentor he refused to let me drive without the jake on maximum setting at ANY time. I couldn't select middle or low setting, and couldn't disengage it... EVER. Cruise control pretty much the same thing, except in traffic. That was a frustrating 240 hours behind the wheel.

nearest truckstop is springville which is 20 miles away. if i leave at 0900. gives me 9 hrs to go 442 miles to first stop. and first stop is right at rush hour. edit.... just talked to dl and he said i prrobably can deliver early at the final. he says on his screen says has to be at final no later that the appt time. so he assumes they will take it early. also said its a drop

Yep. I am finding the same. As far as Lancaster, the majority of the time they just want to offer short crap. Seems that they are catering more for the shuttles. Yes Innkeeper, talking about you again. My DM has been looking at the load board for Monday and seeing nothing coming out of there. I think because they do not want to put them up. Right now Command has nothing that works for me. Either take one to ND, or a short one to MS and then another short one to NC, both around 44K. Those NC heavy loads kill me on mpg. I am staring a new policy for me. Will not take a load that has a Monday morning or Friday afternoon delivery anywhere near one of our large terminals, unless I see a back up. I am going to try and stay out of Memphis and Lancaster planning area from now on. More and more they seem like they just do not care.

Well now here in Franklin, KY. Sure did get far today. Went to scale my load today and had to slide the tandems, and they would not slide. One pin was hanging up. The connecting rod fell off so into the shop I went. Well, have 2 days to get 700 miles.

Today my DM and had a long talk about me getting South down in my comfort zone and they always seemed to hurry and want to yank me out and head back up into areas that I really hate and what happens when I come back from dinner, pu in Coppel and t-call in Denver on Tuesday. Get up there and you just know what Denver is going to try and do, and just try and find a place to drop a trailer there on a Tuesday. So of course, declined. Saw Coors in my future, and myn policy is, if we can not get the can loads because of the dedicated drivers on that account, I am not hauling a beer load for them.
