Sheridan, CO at Costco.
I got here just before 1700, got right in and was unloaded by 1730.
There were 2 other Swift trucks out there when I got done.
I went up to one driver on my way in to buy a couple things and was met by an irate driver. He is dedicated, looked like he hadn't bathed in many days, and was very upset that he didn't get the first slot. He said his appt. time was 1800, I said mine was 1700 and he just kept complaining about how he was being treated and blah blah.
As I walked away the third driver was backing in, and the guy I talked to jumped out of his truck yelling 'get out of my dock!'
As Leann and I were looking for her socks I spotted to fork lift guy relaxing in a lounger. We started talking, I mentioned the driver, and he had mixed feelings about him.
On one hand that driver is likely to be stressed and complaining about something, all the time.
On the other hand, he is the only driver that always delivers loads on time - even in snow. He can deliver 3 loads through the snow in the time another driver delivers 1 load after waiting out the snow. Kudo's to him for that.
Yesterday they had a problem with a trailer so it backed everything up. That is why my load had been rescheduled from last night at 2100 to today at 1700.
Plus they were getting a lot of stuff in for the 4th.
And at that moment he was less impressed by that drivers performance in the snow than he was by the driver cutting in front of the truck they had wanted in first.
He was a really nice guy. When I got here I asked if we could go in and pick up a few things. He said we would have to wait at the dock, but he would get us out before closing time. And he did.
Yet the other driver had nothing but bad to say about everyone here, including him.

At the Sheetz truck stop in Mt. Jackson, VA for my 10. I love this place; I always try to stop here whenever I go by. What other truck stop sells a hot, made to order meatball sub (6") for $2... that tastes good??
Target has been playing musical stores again. I had to take a nearly empty Swift trailer (4000#) 170 miles to the Stuarts Draft, VA DC, and bring one of our errant Target trailers back to the Chambersburg, PA DC. 102 miles to the DC in the morning, then a trip to my alternate go-home store. Haven't been home in 4 weeks. -
home???? whats that?

Big thanks to you lepton1, I went in and asked for anything they had to get the wheels turning and got 3 loads stacked on me. Picked up a loaded trailer there on the yard for a drop at walmart in ottawa, ks. Picking up in spring hill, ks at 0700 that goes back to plainview, tx. Then have a load picking up in plainview and drops in lancaster....
The guy doing the night DL duties was nice and did a really good and fast job of getting loads. I didnt know but I was put on a dedicated account for walmart out of cleburne, tx so when he was telling me about the loads he said he has me going round trip to have me back on monday to speak with my DL and the account.
Anyone else on that account or have any info on it? hometime? what the loads like mile wise? I was told that the account is nothing but drop and hooks for walmart but thats all he knew about it.
Im at the loves in ottawa, ks passing time until i can get in the shipper and get moving again. -
I didn't know there was a Walmart DC in Cleburne to run dedicated out of, let alone a dedicated Walmart fleet so close to Lancaster.
