went to North Hollywood and then did a co sweep in Pacoima, after I ran a load to south Fresno, tomorrow running to Paso Robles then Salinas which will make for a great friday for me. I took an extra day off this week and still will end up with about the same miles for the week than I have been doing the prior few weeks so im happy for the week.

Nine hours to get assigned a dock. Thirteen hours later we still don't have a single roll of paper in our trailer. Another Swift driver left about an hour ago with his load and said it was a total of 30 hours from check in to loaded and out the gate. Driver from another company just got in the dock and said he picks up here frequently and the average turn around time is about 20-24 hours. He also said his company dispatch always indicates this is a drop and hook, but it is always a live load.
Word to the wise, if you are ever dispatched to the Georgia-Pacific plant in Brewton, AL, decline it. I signed a paper when I became a mentor that I could only decline a load for HOS reasons, and I'll decline any load offer for this plant in the future. I'll note "I don't want or need a 34 hour restart". If they question it I'll ask for confirmation of the loaded trailer number and then call the customer to confirm before I accept a load.Broccelli Thanks this. -

Here at my second stop. This morning awoke to a message on the QC. Please send Mac 22, you are tracking late. I am sitting in the customers parking lot looking at the store. Then later a pplan, pu a t-called load and take 59 miles to Brownsville, Haz-mat, stacked with a Tracy, CA load. Declined because no money on the short run, and not going back to Tracy area again for no real profit since always come out heavy. Then sent me a light load going to Lake Park, GA, but, had to take that short one again. Again declined, home time request. Then sent the same Lake Park load with t-call in Houston, but again, that same short one. I am the only truck down here that has HAZ-Mat. Then pu in Brenham, TX, with no weights and in the comments, need light and heavy weight. Looked, could not find a truck stop in that area. So Swift, since this is a customer of ours, where is the nearest scale. It is picking up at Stanpac and going to SCA Tissue in Flaggstaff.

Steve, what do you thing regarding that message today regarding our new pay, In the future dh will be profitable. If DH exceeds about 6% we will benefit from this new option. I have this sneaky feeling, Centrals pay scale in some way. Effective around Aug 29. -
Texarkana, AR at the J.
Woke up this morning to a pplan, and they felt the need to sent it over and over again.
My PTA was set for 1100 and they sent it the first time at around 0530. Then every hour or so.
But I'm not waking up to plan out a 1400 mile trip using recap hours to reply, until I actually get up. I need my beauty sleep, after all.
So I just made sure Jill's voice was muted until I was ready to consider the load.
I don't know why they were in such a panic to get a reply. It has plenty of time on it, and it didn't even have a pick up time yet. My phone text said 1400, however.
I finally accepted it, fueled up and headed to the shipper.
The trailer was still being loaded when I got there and the guy said another 1.5 hours. So I dropped my mt and went to Walmart for supplies. (The Walmart in Jacksonville, TX is NOT someplace you want to haul a trailer into!)
When I got back to the shipper the trailer was just being finished, which was less than 1 hour. Sweet.
Today was a short day, as will be the next 2 days. I went about 160 miles after picking up, and I only have 15.5 hours left on my 70 for the next 2 days.
I'll be starting early the morning of the 31st to make my first stop, but the next couple days are starting late and stopping early. Sweet, again, being able to use all of the hours as the recap starts to roll in.
And it's a light load, weighing in at just 15k.
Sweet, sweet, sweet!
We are headed to NY via PA, so Leann will get several new state key chains for her collection. She's happy. -

Ganado tx after 2 640 mile days back to back.....fresh as a daisy,lol......the heat and humidity doesn't feel as bad as I thought it would, guess I'm getting used to it
I remember on my first week out solo with swift, near six years ago.....stopped here and got up at 4am to ....well,u know hehe....but was idling and opened the truck door....my glasses fogged up from the temp change and humidity.....being a western USA resident all my live...it was my first experience with extreme humidity....scottied67 Thanks this. -
Since my MT miles hover between 6-7% I suspect that I'm not gonna like it.
Unless it's a "win-win" I'm not gonna sign off on it. -
Maybe that's why the last 2 weeks I've got loads where the mt miles were 400% more than they actually were - trying too drive up my mt percentage. Broker loads, so it didn't matter, just more of my net into my maintenance account.
