that TA is in Northbend Wa,prettiest truck stop view in USA if it's not cloudy there.......IMHO...but it's always very crowded..I'd rather park on the side of the road than. Deal with that mess in there....to each his own...

You have got that right. This is my second round with electrical problems. A few months ago it took 4 days for the Greer shop to isolate a module causing my right headlight to not work. The delays thus far have been due to the amount of trucks ahead of me. About to head over and see if any work is actually being done.

Greencastle, PA at the TA.
Got back to Target with about 5 hours left on my 70, no hours coming in tomorrow, and only 6.5 on Friday.
So I'm taking a 34 (well, 44) so I can have full hours back for the weekend.
I offered to put both loads on the same pay sheet to save them some money, but I was told to fill one out for yesterday and today since I had to drive today.
They'll need me this weekend, and I'm not complaining. -
That pretty mountain in back of the TA is Mount Si. The locals in Northbend have a saying...
"If you can see Mount Si it is going to rain. If you can't see Mount Si it is raining."
fr8monkey Thanks this. -

moose..whats been happenning to me is that i'll get one good load. couple short loads(dont mind if i dont sit on it too long. then there will be few days in pay period with low hrs due to sitting. or they'll give me a load (example) on monday and will have it delivered on thurs., though it could deliver sooner. oh well, i*'ll just deal with it. not like i'm hurting for cash

I've had periods of time like that too.
Sometimes it just seems like I get to the wrong places at the wrong times.
Sometimes I'll take a dodgy load, which gets me in a better position for the good ones.
The recent example of Denver is a good example.
I got a pplan the day before my home time ended. A nice 500+ miler to Omaha area, at the same time that I heard complaints of no loads out of Denver.
Then a 1650 miles (mt and loaded) out to NJ before I finished that load. (I hate that area, but I was in and out in a day)
Then sent here to work on the Target surge, which burned the rest of my hours for the week. So now I'm stuck doing a very long 34 so I can be fully available for the weekend.
I understand needing a load in a certain direction for home time, and that might sometimes be the problem with getting out of Denver.
Other places as well.
Getting a driver home is a pain for everyone, it seems. We need very specific loads at very specific times.
And I understand O/O's needing certain requirements met so they can stay profitable.
But sometimes compromises have to be made on both ends, just so everyone can remain happy in the longer run.
Taking a longer run that delivers on Thursday can really mess up a weeks pay, I know. But if you can manage the money, it is great for the following week.
I'm glad you are not hurting for cash. At least you have that going for you. -
It just started pouring rain here.
I love the rain. -
i had a long chat face to face with my DM a while back about that issue and she told me to simply refuse it with the reason "too much time" and let her know and it's been removed. It's rare that I out right refuse a load but I've used that reason a couple of times and was given something better. Of course I take several variables into account before refusing but I'm not gonna get hung with crap just so a planner can get another load off their board.
Came in from PA to live unload at Walgreens DC in Toledo. Took em an hour..much faster than the Walgreen in Houston. Have 4 hours left on my 70 and none back till tomorrow nite so they sent me a heavy Campbell soup load to the east side of Atlanta to a Walmart DC delivering Saturday morning or earlier. Get to Campbell's and they have 12 loaded trailers, mostly new ones except for one..and of course that's the one I get. A piece of junk. Nearly lost my mind getting the tandems to move. Finally got out of there and made down to a PETRO on I-75S. Gonna get up in the morning to get to the south side of Cincinnati before morning rush hour with my 4 hours. Then have to wait till 12am to get another 11 so I can roll. Want to hit those TN mountains in the wee hours cuz I'll be crawling up them.
