I think it was Shane that I told about it. He said he would fix it, along with a few others that had complained.
Shane was the only one on tonight, and he was being run ragged. He's a good guy. After waiting around a bit to ask about a load for tomorrow his first question was 'What time do you want to start?' Then he assigned me a load that started when I wanted to and had just enough miles to use my available time for tomorrow.
That was after he spent nearly an hour helping another driver with routing to his next load into Brooklyn and finding him a truck stop for the night that was near his destination.
That driver was in a loaner truck, and the Qualcomm went out. They had to do everything old school.
I got a taste of being ignored by him earlier today when I didn't have the correct pickup number at a shipper.
I got through on the phone the first time, but a minute later when I tried back there was no answer for 10 minutes. I irritated me at the time.
But when I was in the office and saw what he was dealing with it all made more sense. He only has two hands, and one brain!
I usually head to the TA for the night, but I'll try to get to the Sheetz to say hi.
I hope they have good coffee. -
I'm not a coffee person, but I've been told that their coffee is pretty good. Can't beat their $2 meatball sub, though.

The nice thing about staying at the Sheetz is that you can get to/from the DC in about 4 minutes, so you can avoid logging any on duty time. I find that the 10-15 minutes each way to the TA can take a noticeable bite out of the 70.
I've been contemplating a night at the TA soon, so I can go to Glenwood Foods (discount grocery store) in the morning. Maybe we can have a bite at the TA. -
walmart Baytown is stocking up now for the blitz as they call it. Houston terminal already has several dozen trailers locked down for them to use. I ran the Blitz last year and was pretty happy with it. Going to do it again this year too. Good miles and easy money. Would do out and back runs to four smaller regional Walmart DCs. Sealy, Palestine and New Braunfels in TX and one in Opelousas LA. All drop and hook and almost all under 25K lbs. Keeps me away from the bad weather up north for a bit
-
Tell me about it. Spent 28 hours at the terminal ... Palm Springs, heading north for a Monday AM delivery.
-
Tired, exhausted, burned out, stressed. Stomach cramps, nausea, headaches, and blood pressure issues, lack of energy, no motivation, and can't get enough sleep. And Swift just nods and pretends like they're listening, sent a message back to me saying they hope I feel better soon. At Paul'S Valley heading to Ottawa, KS, I got four bad hours of sleep on my ten and they don't want to respond to me, it's going to be a long trip.

I got stuck in Sumner winter of 2013 for 3 days!
I'll call Command on Monday to see if they have something I can grab on Tuesday for a Wednesday delivery. If that don't work I call my DM for a Costco load.
I was running Gatorade loads to Pepsi in San Diego then they changed the delivery times from 5 or 6 am to 10 or 11 am. Since I drive over the night before and spend the night on the street near Pepsi I started refusing them. -
Made it into Rochelle IL..hanging at the PETRO on I-39 about 20mins from my drop in the morning at Lowes DC in Rockford. Have another load from Owens Corning a few minutes from Lowes going to central Minnesota. A 2 stop at Menards, only weighs 4,500. Yeah, I'll take it. After that want something generally heading towards TX. Hometime next weekend. Been running on recaps for the last 4 weeks..I find Plus1 is much more reasonable on schedules vs having a full 70 they can burn down in 5 or 6 days.
