Jersey Turnpike ... heading to upstate ... then back down the VA ... spent 2 days in a ratel in VA with the dealer trying to find a coolant leak ... nothing. It had dropped a 1/4 inch coming cross country and could smell coolant on occasion.

jurupa terminal ca, woke up in otay mesa ca and delivered empty trailer to old central yard in fontana then drove back down to otay mesa to get another mt . drove back to fontana to drop mt. didnt have enough hours to go there and back, so stayed here. fm said i have saturdays and sundays off, but if i wanted i can work saturdays doing local work. yesterday b4 he went home, he said to do the trailer moves today. so off tomorrow and back at it monday morning. not sure if i'm doing walmart or trailer moves.

Doing a 10 at the Memphis terminal after my reposition from Birmingham AL.
Had just got on US-78 in Birmingham when I get a ppln. D/H in southern KY going to Chicago Monday at lunch to a Walmart. Mty miles are from Memphis. So they want me to DH with my trailer to Memphis then DH to KY...some 400 miles. If they had just dispatched me from Birmingham it would've been 175 miles closer. Who am I to question the infinite wisdom of a Keyboard Monkey. It's their fuel and I don't mind driving all over the place with an mty trailer getting paid.fr8monkey and Moosetek13 Thank this. -
I just had a load that wasn't a load.
I got to the shipper but they couldn't match up my pick up number, so I came back mt.
No sweat on me though, I get paid the same.
I'm wondering which end messed it up.
Still, it got me out of the TA for a while and I had a nice sunset.

My trainee and I are teaming and had a load we could have delivered on Saturday morning, but it is a live unload for a Monday morning appointment. I asked to t-call it and yesterday we t-called it in OKC. Then we got repositioned to Edwardsville, KS - 400 mt miles. Talking with the dispatcher at OKC she said Edwardsville and Memphis were both asking for drivers to reposition there for something big...
... turns out our something "big" was a live unload for a Monday morning appointment in Romeo, MI... 800 miles for a team that a solo could get there with time to stop at every truck stop and casino along the way...
... I'm getting more and more disillusioned with planning in some of these terminals. So far teaming with this trainee we have yet to break 3000 miles in a week.

I have been working earlier shifts and I see it during the day, yesterday at loves the lot was almost completely empty with even some spots that could of been pull through but these arseholes are lazy and take a pump. Sitting at home taking Sunday off for my birthday, got a couple coming over we have fun with regularly, going to enjoy some bbq then drinks and whatever comes after.HousTank Thanks this.

i agree...that blows. I'm running those kinda miles fairly consistent all by myself. You guys should be running coast to coast and not jacking around with short stuff. My first couple of runs back when with my mentor were LA to Baltimore then up to Chicago to Denver and back to LA. The only time we shut the truck down for my 240hrs was to fuel or shower. We did several runs too from Laredo/El Paso to the NE and back.
A couple months ago I was in upstate NY and was sent to Savannagh GA MTY to do a 200 mile load!! Almost a 1000 miles mty. I called my DM to make sure I was reading it correctly. She said yep, take it...darn right I did.
Sometimes I just shake my head. -
