which is nearly impossible....with two turns of the tires in 450,000 miles.....

Doubtful the speed was doctored.
Your speed is being recorded moment by moment, but I doubt they can edit those records to show something different. And why would they?
And if a sensor was at fault it would show high speeds much more often.
More likely is that you simply failed to control your speed on a couple long downhill sections.
Your own fault, and avoiding the safety people will only bode ill for you.
It won't decrease your black marks, it will only increase them.
And you can bet, if you continue, it will go on your DAC and make finding another job all the more difficult.Broccelli, Rattlebunny and Lepton1 Thank this. -
I have only had a couple overspeeds since I started driving and they were less than 1min each...it beeps at me and I hit the brakes.
On that cold weather conversation im a chicken too, I rather not drive in snow and ice if I can avoid it and being at the DC we only have to worry when there is snow over the grapevine on the 5 and Tehachapi on the 58 but normally they shut those down before they get too bad.
Today went to Paso Robles then to Santa Maria, kept getting stuck behind some slow arse truckers coming back, one guy was wanting to take the curves at 30 when you can take them easy at 50-55 and then had 3 trucks from the same company who kept going 45 then 60 and back and forth for over 30miles before they finally turned off into the brake check area. -
I got a call from safety last year because they showed an overspeed (75 MPH) on my truck in Tolleson, AZ. The safety person was smart enough to realize that the ONLY way to get a truck governed @ 68 MPH to 75 is downhill and that there were no hills in Tolleson.
Doctored, probably not. Bad sensor, absolutely. That said ignoring safety is a BAD IDEA! They have way TOO MUCH POWER and most safety personal ARE NOT AFRAID TO USE/ABUSE IT!HousTank Thanks this. -
Ignoring Safety is the absolute worst choice. Those loads you have stacked on you? They can pull those if you don't make the call. Once you are notified you need to contact Safety, you are on a safety hold. That means no more dispatches until you clear it up. There's really no excuse for not facing the music.
As Steve pointed out, it can be a bad sensor. If that's suspected then get the truck into a shop so they can check it out. Safety may require you to do that before your next dispatch if that's the case.
I had one overspeed, actually two DAYS worth rolled into one incident report. That's when I picked up an old O/O's truck and started running it with the cruise set at 65 mph, thinking it would be true to the mark. Unfortunately that truck's actual speed was 2-3 mph faster than stated cruise control speed, so I ended up with hours of run time at 67-68 mph. The Qualcomm never notified me that I was overspeeding, I simply got a phone call from Safety and they had me take it to the next terminal to dial down the governor and reset the parameters for the Qualcomm. Although it added +4 to my RA score, the guy at Safety was nice and said that it would go away after one year.
Currently my RA score is -2.HousTank Thanks this. -
Jeffersonville, OH. Still fighting this cold so really did not get to far today. I have 2 days to get 900 miles. Think that I can do that.

Nope tread life ... I got $1800 for 10 tires ... casing credit would be $800 at the most. IEL may have called it casing credit, but when you go to the body shop they called it a tread life credit.

Mine are close or under 10/32 .....maybe it's a wash .....find out in a few weeks

Doing 10 at a Loves in Shelby IA. Shutdown a little early to get parking and to miss afternoon&morning rush hour thru Council Bluff and Omaha.
Picked up my live load of 44k lbs of liquid somethings from a small Ma&Pa outfit buried in the middle of an old neighborhood in St Paul. Narrow streets and cars parked on corners. Always makes it exciting when going for a load in the morning darkness.
Had vicious winds rolling out of the Twin Cities down I35 thru MN and IA. Became headwind heading out of Des Moines on I80W.
Had the usual onslaught of careless, reckless, speeding and tailgating flatbeds. I think most of their trucks don't come equipped with turn signals either. A State Trooper could make a career out of taking them off the highways.
