yep same here, was chatting with a surge driver a few hours ago before heading home and he was talking about how he doesnt understand how drivers can do 600-700 miles a day, I told him I do several 600 mile days most weeks. He asked how and my response "just drive"
on that holiday pay thing I know a message came across for company drivers too, something about driving 4500 miles between the 20th at 2359 to the 3rd or something like that for a $225 bonus and $900 for a team to do 9000. Not sure if I will be included in that but doubt it since im dedicated and all bonus's seem to go out the window.

Chillin in London now also. Yes, I will attest to what Broccelli I. He can actually speak English for a EX marine. As far as the incentive pay, nope. Did not receive that one. I was asking this morning if they even know what are schedule will be over the holidays at the DC and no word yet. Already said that give me a pin lock key and I will take a retail load Christmas eve and drop it somewhere and bring back a MT and be ready for Christmas night eve since stores will be open the day after. No reason to go home. Let someone with family have that time.

Taking a break on an old customers side road in Union City GA off I-85.
Got to Fairburn GA around lunch and dropped my load from Detroit. Customer had no mty trailers and I had already accepted another load down to Laredo and didn't feel like waiting on a planners goose chase. I'm on recaps and simply don't have minutes to waste chasing around for a "maybe" trailer. Whipped out my book and sure enough we had a D/H customer 2 miles away. Ran over there, lied my ### off to get through the gate and grabbed one. Got dispatched with it and took off for Union City to pick up my preloaded P&G for Laredo. Now I'm all set to roll after my ten. Planners just don't have the sense of urgency needed to support us in a timely fashion.
Before i I got my Laredo load I had grabbed a local job off mac30 for some spare change..the other 2 offers were to Baltimore...no thanks!! The local gig ended being with the circus moving some lions around but after calling the lead driver I found out the p/u date was wrong and I'd have to wait 36 hours. I had it removed. -

I'm at the Greer terminal after dropping of the trailer with refused product.
I'm sure glad to be done with that load. It was a real pain.
No pplan yet, and nothing via mac 30.HousTank Thanks this. -
I delivered a load of foam carryout containers to a grocery DC in Edmund OK once, and they refused one case because the shipper crunched a corner of the box. Went through all the motions and Swift asked if I wouldn't mind bringing it to the OKC terminal office. It was out of my way a bit and they said they'd pay me so I said sure. Once again I should've known better.Moosetek13 said: ↑I'm at the Greer terminal after dropping of the trailer with refused product.

I get get there and it starts pouring down rain and the place quickly turns into a white mud farm. I can't get anywhere near the front door with a trailer so I end up soaking wet with mud up to my ankles plus had to fill out a boatload of forms. Finish all that and go to leave for the T/A down the road on I-40 and they won't let me leave with my trailer!! I didn't have a ppln yet and mac30 was dry. I went back and forth with them but no dice. I could leave bobtail but no trailer.
I was NONE too happy. Called my DM and asked for a favor..assign me a load directly herself so I could leave and she did. I left with my trailer and a lesson learned.Moosetek13 Thanks this. -
Back in London. On my way up to Detroit this morning decided to stop at my little hole in the wall for some fuel, and why not, $3.01/gal. The big boys in MI were at $3.67 and the big boys here in Ohio were close to $3.50. The FSC is sure going down but the fuel around here sure is not that fast.
-
its crazy for the fuel price differences even with the big boys in certain areas, right now for a big boy Tehachapi in the area is the cheapest at $3.24, on the 5 in Santa Nella they are pricing near $3.80 for both TA and Loves, go south to Lost Hills and they are $3.90 or so, a few more miles down the road another TA at $3.44. Then in Tulare you got Loves on one side of the freeway at $3.80 while on the other side a mom and pop truck stop at $3.25 ish. I am not an O/O but I still catch these price differences in different areas, I think if people kept an eye like this they could be making a lot more money over the year saving over $50 per tank.
