For the parking and hospitality at the Loves?

You can imagine. :^D
Probably time to go back to sleep. Dispatcher told me we are 44% booked, so he pretty much didn't need to say any more. My reset ended at 7:30 am, and though I didn't need one, they hadn't any loads to begin with. More so frustrating, it seems like I keep getting pointed in areas of bad weather. -
I had my home time set for 1/1 here in Denver.
I was sent a load getting me here 12/27, and the only pplans sent were for t-called loads out of the terminal that delivered in Denver sometime around my home time date - with a message that 'this load will get you home on time'.
Since I wasn't getting anything else I took one that delivers tomorrow (1/2). So I got time with most of my girls during the nearly week of down time.
But, being dispatched on a load for all this time means that I can't get layover pay. It also means I didn't make the quota miles for the bonus pay.
I did have a few nights at the Super 8 motel. They have a pretty good rate for Swift drivers.
I'm just treating this as a little vacation and relaxation time.
Hopefully freight will pick up soon. I'd hate to be stuck here much longer as I am starting to go stir crazy.
And hopefully they won't be expecting me to 'start' my home time when I deliver tomorrow morning.NoBluffBuff Thanks this. -
TA in Rawlins. Dropped and t-called the trailer at the tow yard, leaving the BOL in the front box, then drove bobtail to the TA. Runs fine without a load and I'm sorely tempted to simply bobtail to Casper to the shop, but not wanting to chance it. Ran our luck fairly good last night and don't want to push it.

If it were me, and if it runs fine BT, I would go for it.
It seems you are getting enough fuel if you don't have a trailer.
And being towed to Caspar could be a long process.
I ran into some good luck as of late. I took out $200 from Primm, NV and a week later a bit over $1,000 from a small casino in NM.
If you seem to be on a lucky streak - go with it!
I'd rather be in that motel room sooner than later. -
At a T/A on the east side of St Louis.
Uneventful day rolling west. Working my way down to I-40 -
I was selected for a survey using Mac61. It was a question as to my opinion about recommending Swift to other drivers.
My first response was pretty positive.
Since it was still active I just sent a few other messages about how I felt about the holiday pay for solo vs. team drivers, and how my loads have come up very short to make the quota.
The rating went down with each message.
And it's kinda funny.
This is the first year that Swift has had a bonus for running over the holidays. (First that I've heard about it, anyway...)
I've always worked through them because it was more convenient for me, being the ex-husband and the 'family' really didn't want me there for those few days.
I just came a bit later for a late holiday.
And this year they gave a bonus, but one that really hosed me as a solo driver.
Both with the money and with the support to make the miles required.
I feel abused, on some level, because Swift feels that my time and effort is only worth less than 1/3 that of team drivers for the same time and miles per driver.
If this is the way they want to play the game, then I'll play it that way.
And I'm very good at 'playing the game'.
I hope others are as well.HousTank and Rattlebunny Thank this. -
I got back on the road a day after Christmas, that way I'd too catch that 10¢/mile bonus. Ends on the 3rd, which adds to my frustration of sitting two days. Hope my fuel gauge isn't lying to me. Lol
-
Mine lies, but on the positive side. Volvo's are pessimistic with the fuel gauge.
I've got plenty of fuel to idle as I need to.NoBluffBuff Thanks this.
