True, I'd have thought so. But it seems to happen with the same csr. It has happened to me twice now. But no worries, I'll get over it. Still better than sittin on the couch wishin I could find a job.

In Connecticut with another shortie, but at least I'm moving. Well, a little anyway.

At the pilot x40 i95 in Milford?, CT

Walk up and try to buy a shower. Every time I do it, they tell me to put my money away and give me a free shower.

After the long wait in Denver I've been running steadily.
Took a load to northern UT and after turning down a load to WA I was sent a load back to the Denver area. A triple stop to different Costco's.
Along the way I get a pplan from Denver to Cheyenne. A heavy water live load that I turned down because it was too close to my 14 running out.
(I also didn't want a short 100 mile, very heavy, load that would put me in the middle of a high wind event.)

I delivered to the final Costco 2 hours early this morning and was sent a pplan picking up at 2200 tonight that would have me running all night. I said no thanks because I can't drive all night after being up all day.
(I got very lucky and got there just at the right time, as they don't normally unload trucks at that hour because they are stocking the store. Another Swift driver showed up 20 minutes later and was very upset that he had to wait until 1100 to be unloaded. His bad, since he was scheduled at 0600.)

After unloading I headed to the terminal to get my permits updated, and I got a pplan just as I pulled in.
Sweet. The miles I drove to the terminal turned out to my mt miles to the load.
It picked up 1 mile away an hour later and it has me headed to IA - out of the heavy winds. Just under 4K, so it's like I'm empty.
Another 650 miles for the week is sweet too.

So I'm chillin' and cookin' some dinner at the TA in Ogallala, NE.

Bingo ... not everytime, but often enough ... or hand them my card acting like I believe I have a shower ... then look all sad and disappointed being to poor to pay for one ... it's become one of games .. that and getting them to give me free coffee.

Waiting in a Casper hotel to catch a midnight bus to go get a new truck. There's a special kind of joy trying to sleep on a multi-stop run with a long layover to catch another bus in order to arrive and drive overnight to get our stuff.

It will cost Swift more to bus us than if we had been authorized to rent a one way car. We'd be ready to be productive a day earlier as well.

    HousTank Thanks this.

Personally, I'd rather play games with Swift than with truck stops.

Since I can't fuel at Pilot and J I always try to buy something if I need to stop there.
And I don't mind paying for a shower if I really need one and they are the place I need to stop for the night.
I feel it is my duty in the game of fair play.

    HousTank and jbatmick Thank this.

There's no accounting for stupid, especially on the corporate end.
Most of them can't see past the end of their nose.

Since I usually shower early in the morning that rarely works for me.

I usually shower at about 4:30 AM. And I stay at flying J's about once a month. But I have yet to pay for a shower, even though I intend to pay when I walk to the counter. I'm not big on handouts, so if I get a free shower, I always make sure I buy a few things.
