Moved to the Fairburn GA BP Truckstop after my 16 hr break. Appears things are pretty lean here in Atlanta this weekend. If I have to sit a while then I need to be around food and a bathroom.
Been checking Mac30 constantly for over 24 hrs and only one ludicrous offer that was only posted for one hour, otherwise nothing..and zero from planners. This is the first time in over three years I've had to sit in the metro Atlanta area waiting. Kind of strange considering we haul for so many shippers in this area. My terminal confirmed freight is light here so I guess I'll try to enjoy the unnecessary break and see what happens. I have a feeling they'll throw something at me before the 24 hr mark that won't p/u till tomorrow to avoid layover pay.
This spring I think it will be time to move out of OTR and do a dedicated regional gig with another outfit. Swifts regionals out of Houston don't pay squat. -
Still sitting here in Sunbury and no pplan. Been almost 5 hours since the planner showed up for work. Thought that to help for miles this week before vacation they might have thrown a Chicago load my way but nope. Looks like to finish this week for 5 days will be lucky to see 1370 miles. Will be lucky to see a check for $250. What a way to start vacation. Time to go back OTR.
Well offered a dry load with the words that we will try and get you a back haul. Willoughby come morning. Then a Chicago load that picks up at 2100 for morning and gets me back late tomorrow night, and this after being up since 0800 this morning. Guess that supposed to be able to flip a switch and go right back to sleep. Then told that there were only 29 wet loads and my pta was 2230 last night. Now my PTA was reset for 2357 tonight and there are no loads. Every time this one planner is doing the planning I give up. I was told that the worst time for loads is Monday night. Guess that this was wrong.Last edited: Jan 25, 2015

Chehalis, WA northbound I-5. Trainee at the wheel. Make a delivery in Sea-Tac, then go to Sumner for MUCH needed laundry before picking up a load nearby headed to Illinois. I'm estimating it will be 47-48 days getting him to 200 hours. He will test out after the Illinois run. Does Gary have trucks for assignment?

Any date with 2357 as the PTA is planner code for "don't plan this truck ".
Moosetek13, blsqueak and SteveH85396 Thank this. -
They had a truck on Friday. Freshly cleaned but still smelled smoky. I've been checking in weekly to try and get out of the smoke truck that I'm in. They said they are expecting new trucks to start coming in February.
-
So its ok if we smoke in your truck?

Had to deadhead 217 miles from McCalla, AL to Mobile last night to pick up a load to Corinne, UT. By the time I made Jackson, MS I was too drained to keep going. Sitting at the Loves pondering Subway and some more sleep.

Sure. It already smells like those sweet cigars. Couldn't get any worse.

kymi....sure can. know a driver here at jv terminal who got assigned a truck. according to him, a driver had died in the truck somewhere off i-10. after being detailed 3 times, he says it still smells. the guy who assigned him the truck told him what happened, but he took it anyways. he spent most of that day wasking inside down with bleach and lysol. saw him again yesterday, and he said smell is going away.
