My truck didn't have hut sticker on it, permits can fax a temp paper copy of the permit or the window of any terminal can print it out so you can drive there legally.
-
I doubt I will get one but if for some reason I do I will put up a picture. But oh well I did drool over them, they were all colored and nice blues and reds not white and boring.27butterfly Thanks this.

check your permit book for the sticker.

LOL Believe me I've checked and rechecked. I'm new so I may be wrong but I'm thinking you only need the HUT permit if you enter the city. None of the terminals had one. Saturday I spoke with 7 different driver leaders at three different terminals. I guess if corporate permits is closed none if them know what to do. Just hoping traffic and weather cooperate tomorrow and my first trip into NYC isn't baptism by fire. [emoji12]
Moosetek13 Thanks this. -
The HUT sticker is the "Highway Use Tax." You need it for the state. You need to stop before entering NY, call the number in your permit book and they will fax you a temp permit to show upon inspection. If permits office is closed, you need to t-call, most likely at the Newark NJ terminal. If you get sent there for a T-call, hunt around for a empty. It's a very tight terminal, and has a lot of red tagged trailers, and not many empties when I was there.

Little America, WY on my way to Cheyenne. Load was coded as a live unload yet has a drop window. So I called the DC and they confirmed that it was a drop and that I can drop early.

The HUT sticker is truck specific. You can't just pick one up at a terminal like other permits. Like others said. They can fax you a temp (30 day?) permit. And they will send the actual sticker to a terminal of your choosing. And then when you pick up the sticker I think you have to call them again to "activate" it of some sorts. I'd call permits as soon as they open and they could probably fax it within minutes to you. Maybe even email. Although I'm not sure if you need it physically printed out legally or not.

I went through this over Christmas. It's a temp. Then like you said about them mailing it. But you do need the temp in case they actually look for the hut tag when you go through scales. I needed one originally on dec 26. Permits was closed, and all I had to do was message my dr manager and he set up the t-call. I'm sure I could have gotten away without it, but I'll never risk a fine, or ticket when it can be avoided. I imagine permits will be closed tomorrow.

Was a nice day running nice and smooth, would of been a 11 hour day or so with 10 of it driving then bam turns into almost a 14. On the 119 going through Taft there was a pallet and a cinder block in the middle of the lane that I could not go around, I managed to slow around 40 before nailing it, pallet I guess ended up flying up into my trailer ripping 2 air lines that connect the brake chambers on both axles, my brakes locked up and I smoked and left tread for quite some distance while trailer fishtailed before I could get myself onto the side of the road, it sure got my heart pumping when it happened and I saw my trailer sliding and smoking but im glad that was the only damage and nothing serious happened. I was surprised when a car pulled over to ask if I was ok. Took 2.5 hours for the mechanic to get to me then maybe only 30min or so to put new lines on.
