Pro tip ... you don't have to wait for your dispatch to start moving. That's why they give you all the detail in the preplan, so you can plan your next move and take off as soon as you're mt ... you can send a ff just before you leave to remind them to dispatch or call on route ... worse case get to your next p/u and let your dm sort it out.

    Cjh_army and Lepton1 Thank this.

Yeah I've done that before. Didn't this time cuz I had no clue how to escape the City and didn't trust my personal phone gps. I guess I should have just typed in the addy for next p/u in the qualcomm and trusted it would give me a "truck" route out. Thanks for the reminder tho Mystic

I just call my DM, or whomever is on duty at the time, to dispatch me.
It only takes a couple minutes.

I'm at a little place in WI for the night, until around noon tomorrow.
I have just enough hours on my 70 to deliver tomorrow, IF I don't get delayed too much going around Chicago. I have about 30 minutes leeway.
But I'm delaying my delivery until around 2000. I don't want to get saddled with a load picking up at 0300 just because I have a hours coming in at 0200.

Dan , you can select the address in the pplan by dragging your finger across from the right of the state then up to the left of the name (takes a bit of practice ) then hold down the Ctl button and press C to copy . Then go to the Location Search page and hold down Ctl and type V (not P) to paste . It will prevent typing errors that might send you to West instead of East BFE. In theory , the Qualcomm GPS is supposed to only select truck routes but ... Be especially careful hitting Reroute when off the interstate ; it seems to like residential areas and cul-de-sacs.

TA in Fort Bridger, WY taking a 10. Had a smooth, beautiful run from Las Vegas today. Blue skies, bone dry roads, cruise control most of the way except for some traffic in Las Vegas heading out this morning and in Provo/SLC this evening. Oh, that and with this heavy load pulling all those hills it kept my mind focused on shifting, cruise, and jake strategies for momentum conservation.

Fueled up, then found a great spot to park right by the restaurants. A t-bone steak kept shouting at me as I walked by the restaurant to use the restroom and get my thermos filled for an early departure, so I moseyed on back to get acquainted. Nice fella, well aged, and seen a little heat recently, but it was a fulfilling conversation.

Got a drop and hook in Cheyenne as soon as I can get there. Don't have a stack yet, nothing on Mac-30, and I'm betting I'm headed down into Colorado to get my next load.

Thanks a million for the Pro Tip A21CAV. LOL Lepton I'd pay good money to hear the "reroute/swamp" story. Gather round children criss cross applesauce here's your popcorn Uncle Lepton is going to tell the sheer swamp and the semi story.

Interesting day for me. Delivered in Greensboro, picked up next in Browns Summit, realized I forgot my metal portfolio at guard shack in Greensboro. Return to re-aquire same. Heading to Poughkeepsie. Near blizzard conditions at the Virginny border. Drive five miles, bluebird day. Hit Roanoke, white out, huge flakes, drive five miles, yep bluebird. Shut down for the evening

Oops wrong button. Shut down for evening south of Harrisonburg. Will make Poughkeepsie mañana and hope they'll do this live unload (l/u) early. Otherwise I'll stage so it's first on plate Friday am. Then I can hope the planners shower me with weekend love and send me to Phoenix or southwest somewhere.😉
