Awesome info on the "tools" friends. A couple more I need to obtain after reading tonite. I always chuckled while learning the pre trip for the DMV, good to know a pressure guage is still in vogue. Really need to get a glad hand air hose. Never considered the torch. Spare lights are a must but I've stopped at headlights. Figure as long as I can see forward I can get to a place to fix the rest. I'm certain you all have adequate rolls of duct tape. Don't leave home without it.

Started the day with reinforcement anthropogenic global climate change is REAL. I witnessed a temperature change from minus 7 to 14 degrees in a two hour period. Of course with scientific extrapolation I should be peering out my side windows at scorched earth. (Smirk)

Woke up to that minus seven when my heater suffered the time limit shutdown. Off back on and fell back to sleep after 45 mins. Didn't wake up again til 6:30 am. That's a late start for me. Pulled off for fuel on I-78 exit 7 in Joisey. Swiped my cards and entered the plethora of numbers three times before I realized I used one driveway early and was at the Pilot pumps not the TA. Glad no one SAW that.

Called customer and YES, they would do my l/u as soon as I arrived instead of tomorrow at 8 am. Finished that one and got a load from PA to Indy. Staged for the evening 37 miles from p/u. 606 pd miles 637 via phone gps. Gonna have a couple of questions on this one. Quaker Oats shipper and receiver. Special comments include, load may freeze, do not stop or shut off truck. I realize I'm new. I can make those miles but first delivery is Saturday midnight and special comments also state don't deliver early unless you change appt times. So I'll visit with shipper for education in the morning.

I have a small creme brulee torch which uses just a butane can like whats used with portable stoves, does not take much room at all, I have the portable stove too but have not used it in awhile, been stashed in a cabinet for months now, microwave is so much quicker and I dont have the desire or a ton of downtime these days to really cook.

    I can tell...
    You're jealous.

    Well, let me tell you.
It's all in the correct clothing, and... it's all in the wrist.

I keep warm down to 0 degrees with lined shirt and jeans. Below that and I need gloves and maybe a sweater.
And cranking a stiff landing gear lever in those temps requires some wrist action, as well as shoulder, to make it easier. The same with air lines or fuel hoses.

At what point does it become TMI?

    A rather uneventful day.

I pick up tomorrow morning 130 miles away, then I'm headed to Indianapolis.
Preloaded and a drop at Kroger's, so I was able to adjust the times to something more to my liking.

Passing along some info. Note: I will vehemently deny any of these first three are self representation.

If you like sitting low when driving even the notorious "Freightshakers" feel a tad less rough if you keep some air in the seat support.

When sliding tandems to balance a load for a rescale, It doesn't matter how many holes you need to move if you don't make a note of from what hole you STARTED.

If you are being given "grief" by the store manager for giving him the WRONG loyalty card, believing you came up with the perfect retort "I know what store I'm in I was just trying to share the Loves", won't get you off the hook. At least at Pilot.

Second week solo coming to an end. I will claim these. The chances of a four wheeler driver attempting a maneuver that makes you seek a safe emergency stop to change undergarments is exponentially greater the closer they are to your moving truck. After a couple of days in below zero weather, all stiffness aside, 9 degrees seems balmy.

Worst ad campaign award to Sheetz chain for billboards "Pay less for all the Sheetz you need". Cmon man! If going that route just say "When you really need to Sheetz, we're here" (ducking)

Best ad campaign award to Chik Filet. Four cows peering over or around the billboard "We see you burger eaterz Eat more Chikin" Also four cows around a container. "Eat mor Chikin or we let this thing out".

Close to Indy on I-70. Cassie worked hard today. Picked up 44k in aptly named Mountain Top PA this morning. Turns out the "load may freeze" concern wasn't. Had forgotten Quaker Oats makes gatorade. Going to shoot for a 9am delivery and see who's shipping freight for the weekend.
