A bit north of Knoxville, TN on my way to Indy with a very light load of TP.
Then I'm headed to MI with another fairly light load.

The winds were getting pretty gusty out of Knoxville and the weather channel was warning of 60+ MPH gusts in areas, and possible flooding along my route.
    Shut it down.
As long as it's better around 0400 it shouldn't delay my delivery.
It looks, from the NOAA website, that my route should be clearing up tomorrow morning - for the most part.

Eufaula, OK at the Loves. As usual US69 is rough but I wasn't willing to go 80 miles out of my way to stay in I-35.

Headed to Houston for a Monday morning delivery. The Weather Channel is forecasting gloom and doom in the form of freezing rain from my location to south of Dallas for Sunday. I'm hoping if I get out of here early tomorrow I'll make it far enough south to avoid the ice. If not then I'll be late!

    I hate freezing rain.
The best defense seems to be the defroster on full heat and high fan.
When that fails, I'm late as well.

And I'm sitting here, getting tossed around by the wind around my truck.

Spending the night at Columbus terminal after t calling one here.

Went to sleep last night just west of Columbus with a forecast for 1 to 3 inches. Woke up to three on the ground. Headed inside for morning duties and discovered 6 to 8 was coming. Made the Indy delivery on time but about an hour later than my projected. Needed fuel on way in and had to phone Greer after free from wasn't being answered. Apparently qualcomm was acting up to the point Greer said the corporate IT techs had to travel to Phoenix. Thus, I didn't wait at customer after mt call. Headed over to 465 exit 4 and the Dennys at Flying J. Under an hour on the 14 when I arrived. Chalk one up to weather.

Quick Trip on I-35W in Fort Worth. Made my drop, but no empty to hook to last night. Fortunate, as the Love's was packed and the only spot available at the QT is behind another truck next to the fuel islands.

Almost have a 10 after stopping here, waiting for a preplan. Nothing on Mac-30.

So last night about 1am mst going west on I10 at mm2 almost in AZ from NM. Come around a small corner too seeing headlights spinning coming toward me from the east bound side. Pick up truck had spun out, started rolling and came across the narrow median and I came about 3 feet from crushing them. Luckily had enough time to react and do an emergency braking and turn to the left lane slightly to miss them. Pulled off the road, called 911 and went to check if they were OK. They were unharmed but a bit shook up. Hung up with 911 and waited till police showed up. Talking to the 2 guys that were in the truck, they were young and just got back from deployment in the army. Then, I smelled it, alcohol. On both their breaths. I was a cop for 3 years, I have seen countless innocent people killed from drunk driving. Told the cop when he arrived, he checked and arrested driver. After I left and shut down last night got to thinking, if I was only 10 feet further ahead or they were a couple seconds later I would of hit them. What a night. And qcom is snafu'd today apparently, goes along with my day.

Wow Marvel those are ones that make you realize the seriousness of driving.

Yep qualcomm messed up again today. Spent first half of day sitting at Columbus terminal. Least I got clothes and me washed. Finally got a bobtail to Charleston WV. Will take a ten outside the civic center then hauling a load from here to MD after Disney on Ice show ends.

    Shower at a terminal?
    Not for me.

Columbus, OH. It seems this is a focal point right now.

My last pplan load got cancelled, which I didn't know about until I called to get dispatched.
I didn't have to wait very long for another load. This one was going to NY, and it ended up t-calling here after I got the actual load assignment.
So I t-called the load here and will now be headed to PA.

The miles are not that great this week. The loads are messed up, with odd hours and too much time.
My next load has me picking up a live load at 1100 (2.5 hours away), then delivering the next morning at 0001. A drop at a Walmart DC ~300 miles away.
Of course I couldn't do it in 14, so Mac 9 to the rescue - since Walmart drops have a wide window.

Delivering at 0900 or so on Tuesday I should still be able to run a decent week by Wednesday night - IF the next load delivers by then.
With my luck I will get a sweet 2k load that delivers Thursday evening so it will go on the next paycheck.
But that won't help the ex-wife that needs help on rent this month.

However, the QC seems to be working again.
    That is good news.
