First ... the after hours ... it's called ECT - they're available 7x24. Second ... go nowhere other than the nearest place you can park that has facilities. Let the planners tell you where to go for an mt. That way you can get paid for your running around and are not burning your clock needlessly.
He's over on the 83.

It's always a fun place.
My current load is 45k, and I can't weigh it!
Every truck stop with a scale I've stopped at, the scale is closed because of the cold weather.
I have 1 weigh station to pass before my delivery. I'm hoping it is either closed or I will get through with PrePass.
My latest pplan...
Drive 150 miles to drop my mt at Amazon at 0800 tomorrow morning, when I don't deliver this load until 0900.
Someone is smoking something funny.iloveatrucker Thanks this. -
My favorite pplan so far was the last time I came off home time. They had me bobtail 680 miles to pick up an empty. I loved it lol.

As it turns out my choice for moving bobtail paid off. Appreciate all the input friends, however I feel I made the best decision given the info at the time. Planner sent me 12 miles from where I spent the night for an mt this morning. Got back to York for the heavy load from Arm and Hammer then made the mistake of doing the 30, 15, MD 100 thangy back to 81 south. I think it was MsJamie who suggested taking 83 back up to 81 when I was with mentor. BTW MsJamie very impressive you pegged me on 83. Probably figured out the Walmart too. LoL. Seems you know the area. Is that Chinese buffet place next to Walmart at exit 33 off 83 any good? I should have tried it last night but I just went to sleep instead.
Caught up with a classmate from Millington today. Hit the Arby's at exit 291 Loves on I 81. Another of our classmates called while we were there and accused us of being big spenders splurging at Arby's. Dang we lowered the bar! (G)
Anywho, only did 411 miles today. Shut down at TA off the 77/81 junction. -
Cjh_army did you get paid for those 680 bobtail miles???
-
Yes, or I would have suddenly caught diarrhea.
-
Ewwww TMI.
-
The route you took is a more technically challenging drive, but it is quicker and shorter.

I got out of the Walmart DC purgatory in Cleburne, TX by using the handy dandy Mac-30 to snag a load headed to Pueblo, CO. I picked out an empty in the Walmart yard and headed to the north end of Fort Worth for a live load that went pretty quick in the midafternoon. I was worried I might get caught in the next storm system coming from Arizona and got nailed with a heavy hailstorm within the first 30 minutes after departing the customer, but after that the skies were basically clear and the roads bare and dry.
I made it to Amarillo to take a shower at the Petro on my 30 minute break, then with four hours left on my 11 and my 14 I drove north to Lamar, CO; making it to a mud lot next to the McDonalds with 8 minutes to spare. This was a good and productive day of driving, a welcome change from sitting for 30 hours in the ice covered DC.
After parking I got on Mac-30 and snagged a round trip from Pueblo to Rapid City and back. Had a great dinner and looking forward to a good night's sleep, in spite of having to idle the truck. It will dip into the teens tonight. Good thing is the skies are clear and almost no wind.Moosetek13 Thanks this. -
Sitting at Love's in Gallup, nm. Got call from planner last night asked me to take another load from this company from where I'm delivering to near El Paso... OK but this time give me a good load from there. He said he would but as of when I woke up no pp yet. Knowing my luck either he will forget about me or was just saying what he had to do I would take the load. Oh well.
