    Gotta love those planners.
I was sent a pplan to pick up where I am delivering tomorrow morning.
PU 04/29 at 0915, live load, drive 725 miles and t-call in Otay Mesa 04/29 0800.

Where did I put that darn flux-capacitor???

I said I would t-call on the 30th at 1430, which also is the time it is supposed to deliver by in Tijuana.
It was taken off me, and another was sent.

96 miles to Albuquerque and 96 miles right back to the same place, all done by tomorrow afternoon.
That one I took. The extra couple hundred in this pay period will round out the week nicely.
I'll be out of hours after the unload, so I guess I'll be spending the night in the middle of nowhere.

Here at mm 66 service plaza on KS pike. Finally getting a tailwind. After going from Denver to Edwardsville and back on I-70 west with crosswinds, makes a person very tired. now waiting for what tomorrow brings as far as a load home. It should be easy if the planners just do their jobs, but that would be asking too much.

    I know, right?

Should put cameras on the planners, and drug test them more often.

    ROFLMAO!

But seriously, do they get tested?

... and speaking of cameras in the truck. I guess maybe I'm used to the concept, since my "night job" for quite a spell was playing poker, with all the "eyes in the sky" in the casinos. Even today I caught myself doing the "hands up, hands down" flip when giving my money to the cashier at the TA to prove I wasn't palming the money. :D :D :D

I believe that they do. Random testing. I know that even in the truck wash where I live, a Truck-o-Mat they are tested before getting hired. I believe just about everyone that works in the trucking industry or even the transportation industry is subject to random.

    I dunno.

With some of the pplans I get, it doesn't seem so.
Unless it is all part of a plan... a conspiracy to make me turn down certain loads so that my refusal rate goes up?

My current load was not much better.
Not enough time on it so I did a Mac 9 to add 2 hours. It was taken off me, just to be given back a couple hours later.
Well, I was going to be early delivering by about an hour so I took it.
I got real lucky. The live unload delivery took less than an hour, and the pick up was about the same. I think I was the only truck in that place to get in and out in less than one hour, or four.
I seemed to be the only pre-loaded trailer in that little place, with 2 Swifties in there with me. And I had to sit in the street for 15 minutes before I could even get in.

And still, I have just barely over a 10 to get to my delivery on time.
I really hate that close of timing.

It seems that I either get a load with way too much time, or just the opposite.

I got to my delivery this morning about 45 minutes early, then sat in the waiting area for a dock for nearly 3 hours.
They have a receiving side and a shipping side, and the receiving side was flooded. They were only loading and unloading from 1 dock each on the shipping side.
There were 5 trucks ahead of me in line when I got there, and a dozen or so parked an hour later.

So I called a DM and explained the situation and to ask to be removed from my committed next load to Albuquerque.
I had also just received another NLA that picked up at the same place, which I could do if I didn't have the other one in the way.
So that was done for me.

After nearly 3 hours a guy drove up to my truck and asked if I was picking up a load and where to. I told him and he told me that my trailer had been pre-loaded and it was ready.
So I dropped my load, picked up the new one and was out.
Not bad, a live unload and a live load turning into a drop and hook.
It's a nice load, too, although very heavy. Over 45k of 7 big paper rolls. 1709 miles going to PA on the 4th.

I only got another 135 miles today because I picked up a big nail in a drive tire. I stopped here at TA to get it repaired, and then I was just about out of hours for the day so I stayed shut down.
No biggie as I have plenty of time on the load.

What I thought was going to be a crummy day turned out pretty good.
