Napoleon, OH.
My potato load was unloaded this morning (I never get tired of seeing a trailer up-ended to dump out the load) and then I sat for a few hours with no pplans.
Mac 30 only gave the same thing, again, that being empty trailer moves.
I finally took one just to make a few more bucks for the day.
I dropped my mt at Campbell's Soup a couple miles from here, and now I sit again for a load. Only this time I'll probably have to hunt for an mt.
There are many other Swifties here, many bt as well.
My home time to MN is coming up this next week, and I'm really glad the bonus money is on this next pay check.
Good Night From II

Been on home time since Wednesday morning. Never received a ppln while off with my PTA set for Sunday at 5am.
Called the terminal at 2am to see if freight was light this weekend and my ECT guy said yeah but I had a ppln on my truck...never came to my phone.
Load was picking up at 5pm Sunday afternoon at a paper mill in Evadale TX, that I absolutely detest, and delivered in Ft Smith AR at 5am Monday morning. Live at both ends. Not happening!!
I don't have an mty, it's a 2hr drive to Evadale with a live unload 12 hours later after driving all night. Told him there's no way I could do that. I'd have to start my 14 earlier than 2pm just to find a #### trailer. That load can only be done by someone already running vampire, with a good trailer located close to the pickup and even then there's a high probability the receiver would run your hours out sitting on a dock.
Told ECT I'll come in at 5am and Mac9 it with a refusal. Probably won't get another load so I'll just go home. Don't even care anymore as I'm talking to other Companies. -
I was just at a potato farm up the road from you, in Wauseon OH, about 10 days ago. Mrs XXX Potato Farm. They dumped the trailer as well and then I rolled for Cleveland but had expected to go to Campbell's in Napoleon next. I lucked out!!
I'm surprised they didn't have a load for you out of Campbell's since they're pretty busy and we run a lot of their freight. At least there's a few good truck stops to hang at up on Hwy 24. Hope you and Leann are doing well!!!Moosetek13 Thanks this. -
I spoke too soon. Lancaster bit me!
I dropped at Quaker only to be to "no emptys". I figure no problem, I'll just bobtail to the terminal and grab one. Problem is it's Sunday morning and instead of several MTs to pick from the yard is full of loaded trailers, red tagged trailers, and JUNK. So here I sit more than 3 hours after I MTed out and my next load is going up in smoke.HousTank Thanks this. -
I delivered to the same farm.
Very nice people there, and I made an extra $10 for moving a trailer out of a dock for them.
I thought it would be easy getting a load out of here as well, but here we all sit.
There are 7 Swift trucks here at the Petro. Most were here when I got here yesterday.
The gasket on my windshield popped out some the other day when I went into a Love's with really bad pavement.
Now it's raining inside my truck.
Edit:
I called on-road and they sent me to the TA across the highway to fix my windshield.
It's dry again inside the truck.
There are another 5 Swift trucks sitting here, so about a dozen between TA and Petro waiting for a load.Last edited: Jul 12, 2015

Here at the TA in OKC. Thanks to the hills on I-35 and 25mph winds from the WSW, a whopping 6.8mpg

It's 3:30 am and I'm waiting on a patheticly slow Sam's Club warehouse crew to unload me. I had a 12:15 am appointment, my guess is another hour AT LEAST! My next load doesn't pick up til 11:00 am so I have a chance to get some sleep and a shower before I'm due there.

Love's in Webbers Falls, OK about 80 miles from my drop in Jenks, then grabbing one from there to Ashley, IN.

East of Gary, IN at a TA.
A pplan rolled in at 0730 this morning and I snagged it real quick.
A few minutes later a second came in that will get me to MN for home time on the day I requested.
Nice job, planners!HousTank Thanks this. -
Been home for a day. I got half of their truck unloaded, will finish the rest and start scrubbing everything down tomorrow. Made my drop, set my PTA out for 6 days, and they began pouring pplans on me left and right...anything that would have me commit before I left the terminal, which I found to be peculiar, so I declined with note saying I was unsure of my PTA at the moment. Haven't in the past been hounded to commit on a load while just leaving for hometime, but the system tried to toss a load my way followed by another straight from a planner after I declined first one. Not going to have load abandonment on my record...I can always explain the Swift mess I got into, but not if I do something without integrity which excludes turning truck in without notice. Don't trust this company...you know, it wouldn't hurt them one bit to leave me stranded at some random terminal, having to rent a van to transport the dogs and my belongings across the country.
I busted my butt and got to the terminal soon enough to have face time with my DM, as he logged out from the mainframe one last time, and on to his new career. We talked for over an hour about a lot of things...mainly our hobbies and current events. I didn't want to break the good feeling, and so I kept it secret my plan to leave the company. I'll be calling him after the fact.
I went to my local gun range to fire my handgun, and rented about 6 others to try. I got my heart set on the Glock 19 - 9mm, after shooting each one, this is it!!! My S&W Sigma 9mm had been jamming rounds a lot during reload, but I found a spot that needed sanding/polishing and took care of that. Fired twenty rounds without jamming, so I am relieved to find the weak link, and surely will still make a fine glove box gun. I encourage anyone to try a Glock though, if you can find a place to rent one.
Anyways, should be a couple more days before I take the truck back. I will let you all know how that goes.HousTank Thanks this.
