Good Night From II

Still sitting in the wonderful Greer Oasis waiting on my B-Serv. Was assured this morning that it would be done this afternoon. I knew from just looking around this junkyard that I was getting fed a big steamy pile of BS. No point in getting frosty with them because they only have a few mechanics and a LOT of busted trucks here. It is what it is.

I'm not the only one a tad frustrated here for sure. There has been no shortage of negativity in the Lounge and smoking area with drivers trying to outdo each other with their horror stories. Have heard it all before so I just kept my mouth shut.

Tuesday will make four days of downtime waiting. Went to my truck to cool it down and after being closed up all day in the sun it musta been 140deg in here. Not concerned in the least about having high idle times tonight.

 

I stopped being concerned about idle times a long time ago.

 

Hey Dan!!! So glad to see things are going well for you at SNI. Helps you maintain your sanity and your $$$!! I hope it continues to work out for you.

I'm soon leaving as well before I go nutty with frustration. Things have gotten so bad on so many levels over the last few months that I feel compelled to bolt. Life is too short to keep enduring this abuse so it's time to move along. Take Care!!!

 

I noticed you said "we" in your last post.

Do you still have the most talented artist in the Western Hemisphere with you?? Does she get to stay with you for the rest of summer till school starts back in Denver?? What a great summer adventure traveling the country with her Dad!!

Looking back, I REALLY should've gotten one of her cool sketches for my bunk wall when I had the chance back in Mt Vernon.

If Miss L is still with you please pass on my regards and you two stay safe out there!!

 

She is on the truck until mid-August, and she says thanks for the compliment.
She has 28 state shot glasses so far, and hoping for a few more.

I had to turn down a load to RI just now. They had my PTA wrong and I don't have the hours coming in to do it.
Too bad. I haven't driven the truck up there yet and Leann would have liked to see it.
And that's the second load to Rhode Island that I've had to turn down in the past month.

 

Heya Dan glad to hear its working out there! Been a little slow here, tomorrow I go to Greer for a b-service. Yea, I'm packing a bag. Going to get there early and hopefully get home tomorrow. Also have to do the #### simulator, I hate those things.

 

New Baden, IL. Just before got on the road this morning was sent a pplan. MT trailer move, wal-mart in Moberly. Turned it down for reason, can not afford the pay cut. Then received another message, please call them. I did and told them why, no short haul pay, a cut, and stop pay cut from $35 to $20 even though OTR. She tried to tell me that there is no cut for helping out. Told her to check with that witch (I did not say that) who used to be a planner and now the OPS MGR, she did and said yes, I have to run under the Wal-mart contract. Learned my lesson the last time when I helped out for a week and saw a pending settlement and it was looking great, then got the final and it was $400 less in my stop pay. Then a second pplan this afternoon, dh 200 miles to get one going 400 miles for Thursday afternoon to Family Dollar in Moorehead, KY. No way. very bad area for planning and trying to get a good weekend run since they would not plan me until Friday morning and if look at the Atlas, there is not that much around there. One of the reasons that I hate coming to this area when close to a weekend, get into the short run planning area. Also Command has nothing. She was telling me today that a lot of their freight has dried up.

 

Still at Greer wrapping up my 4th day down to get my B-Serv.

They finished the B-Serv late today but my air lines and electrical line also need replacing and that didn't get done today as that work will be done by a different mechanic. Hopefully will get done tomorrow.

Have home time set for Monday in Houston so I won't get any miles next week either. Very disappointing 3 weeks out this time. I would've made more money hiring out my lawn mower at home with a 50% off bonus to my neighbors

I'll bust out a Beavis & Butthead t-shirt to be easy to spot...watching tv probably. Nothing else to do while waiting for shop to finish my truck.
