Bay Bridge toll was $25.00 last time I used it.

Well, that is certainly one I will get reimbursed for.

Thanks Steve. I'll make sure I have enough cash on hand.

I looked up the hand held ones... I wonder if there is a way to measure wind speed without having to stop :) and not using WiFi.

The only other way that I know about is to listen to the radio weather channels.
You will have updates to the last hour or so.

It also tells the wind speeds all along the highway, so you'll know when you are heading into something bad.

Well, in some areas that is.
It can be a bit dodgy. Sometimes it tells of other conditions, and sometimes it is not on the air.
But in really bad areas, like WY, it is usually pretty good.

I guess you could always go by how many degrees you have to turn the steering wheel to stay on the road, or how much to the side the trailer tandems are because of the wind, or...

How many more do you want?
    How many more are available?

If I have something on my shoulder and go to brush it off and it's the ground. Then it's too windy to drive.

Lady K and Moosetek13 Thank this.

At that point the only thing on your shoulder would be your last breath - and it really would be too windy, and too late.

staying at the terminal tonight after dropping a t-call here. Gonna give the target dedicated out here a try for a bit and if we like it we will run out of this DC in Ohio. Since this DC is much closer to home it should make it easier to get loads home for home time and for coming back out to work.

I enjoyed my days off but I certainly did not feel like going back to work on Monday. And I had a fun Monday. Picked up a load in kenbridge va from the lumber yard gvw was 79,480 with an eigth of a tank of fuel so I got to have fun sliding tandems and fifth wheel to get everything just right. Ended up with 11880 on steers and 33840 on drives and 33760 on tandems. Leaving me with very little wiggle room for fuel. I put 40 gal in and ended up 40 lbs over on the steers so I figured I'd burn off enough weight before I hit any weigh stations but forgot about the scales on the interstate about 2 miles down the road from my fuel stop. They pulled me in and I went across the scales but they must not have felt like doing paperwork because I got a green light and was sent on my merry way. That was not a fun feeling going across the scales knowing I'm overweight.

they are not going to sweat over 40lbs, plus the scale might read differently anyway.

got my score card today and numbers are looking good, my risk score is down half the points, idling at 0%, 7.6mpg and out of route -1.7%. How the heck do I get a negative out of route? lol
the sheet is for past 4 weeks on the last 2 stats.

Yeah I figured it probably wouldn't be worth their effort. I still didn't enjoy the feeling. I did have my co-driver go into the sleeper berth since I weighed it with both of us up front that might have made us legal again when he hopped back in the sleeper.
