    Barstow, CA at Loves.

I'm not sure how widespread it is, but my Qualcom hasn't had a connection all day.
I started out this morning at 0300 in Gallup, NM, and about 5 miles west of there the connection was lost.
About 0830 I got a phone call from a DM in Jonestown (or someplace) asking if I was still at the truck stop in NM. She had a driver there that was out of communication.
When I got here to Barstow I asked another Swift driver if he was having problems. He said he lost the connection just as he was passing the CA border at Primm, NV.

Since everything but the location information is working I haven't bothered to do a paper log; I've been stating the actual location in the comment section whenever I change duty status.

Heyburn, ID at the Love's. 616 miles today, 408 of that on 2-lane. Got here with 3 minutes left on my 11.
Denver tomorrow for an early delivery on Wednesday.

I tried unplugging the power to the QC to cold boot it.
It worked, most of the way.
The touch screen doesn't work, the pointer is stuck right in the middle. I guess something didn't initialize correctly.
But the connection is back, and messages have come and gone like normal.
After the head unit goes to sleep and wakes up again maybe it will be fully back to normal.

I accidentally discovered a way to do a reboot without having to lift the bunk and do contortions to unplug the pos . Go to the second screen using the right arrow on the home screen and select Settings . Tap Speakers and change the output . It will ask if you want to restart and tap yes . You'll have to do it again to go back to the initial setting .
This obviously won't work if your screen is locked up. The volume on mine has been wonky lately and I've been doing this to reboot it. I don't want to go to a shop and get it replaced because it doesn't seem to record overspeed or critical events .

    inkeper and Moosetek13 Thank this.

    OK, just tried it.
I was able to use the keypad to change it and initiate a reboot.

Then a program didn't want to shut down, so I forced it - also using the Tab and Enter keys on the keyboard.
Then a virtual keyboard came up, but not the one we normally use, and just stayed there.
I tried various key presses, and I think Control-Alt-Backspace finally got it to reboot.

    ...

    And, it worked!
Everything is back to normal now.

    THANK YOU A21CAV!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I just went through the reboot process again to change back the speaker setting.
Again there was a program that would not shut down, and again I had to force it.
This time when the virtual keyboard came up I was able to tap the big red button (Control-Alt-Del)
    Nothing happened.
Then I used the physical keyboard to press Control-Alt-Backspace, and it rebooted normally.

    Thanks again, A21CAV.
I learned a couple new things from you today.

Sitting at the Rawlings J taking a split because of the wind.

Frank, thanks for the tip about the quick reset. I had to threaten to turn in my truck 18 months ago in order to get a problem corrected (with the Qualcomm) so I understand your reluctance to go near a Swift shop.

    Ontario, CA at TA.

I only had 3 hours left on my 70 when I got to my delivery this morning, and less than 2 by the time I got here, so I'm off until morning.

My QC lost its connections again a little before I got here. I wonder what is going on with it.
Before I went off the drive line I rebooted it and the connections returned.
Another trick is to press the head button for 8 seconds to force a soft reboot, but that didn't work. I had to use A21CAV's trick of forcing a hard reboot by changing the speaker setting.
