After spending the weekend in the Denver shop I got a load to Lewiston, ID. A nice heavy beer load that I t-called there.
My pplan had a t-call of 01/21 0845, but when I got the load assignment it was changed to 01/20 2200.
Knowing the route, and actual miles, I didn't think I could make that schedule so I sent a mac 22.
I got the PTA update response, and it was 01/20 2230 - they wanted it there on the 20th.
So I pushed as hard as possible.
I actually preferred to deliver on Wednesday so that I would have some kind of pay check, I just didn't think it would happen.
But it did. I got there with 13 minutes to spare on my 11.
That was cutting it way too close for that run.

I got a load right out going to the Safeway in Tracy, CA with a delivery a few hours ago.
    Or so I thought.
I got there 30 minutes before my 'appointment' time and was told to park in the back lot (but not in the mud!) and then walk the paperwork back up to the guard shack.
(One truck made the wrong turn, got stuck in the mud and had to call a tow truck to get pulled out.)
LOL with parking anywhere but in the mud as it is a dirt lot. Lots of rain today.
I brought up the paperwork and was told it might be 10 minutes or 3 hours before they call me.
When I had less than an hour left on my 14 I drove back to the shack and got my paperwork back, and sent a mac 22 saying that I had been delayed so long my 14 was run out and that I would deliver tomorrow.
Then I headed for the Lathrop terminal for the night.

I think the Safeway here is even worse than the one in Denver, and that's saying a lot.
But the guard was cool, and made sure to give me a copy of the check in paper so that there would not be an extra fee to reschedule the delivery.
As I was going out there were trucks parked along the driveway all the way into the street, waiting... waiting...

That Safeway DC is awful...I went on the road with my OTR hubby over the Christmas break (first time for me!!) and waited 2 hours in the dirt lot, then 4 hours at the dock. Took an hour for them to bring the lumped paperwork, hubby went to the office to hurry them up and they were rude, told him to get back in the truck. Said they've had problems with angry drivers so they always have several guys in the office as back up to avoid fights. Crazy. We made it to the Lathrop with just minutes to spare on his 14. Talking to other drivers they say that's the norm for that DC

Rock Springs, Wyoming. The Texaco. Would have been a nice day if not for the 18mph winds out of the sw. Hit cheyenne at noon and 52 degrees

I went in to the window this morning to see if there was a new delivery appointment time, and they t-called the load.
    I certainly shed no tears.

Then I was told to get comfortable in the lounge with the other 200 drivers waiting for a load.

So I made a Walmart run, checked out Best Buy and Costco since I am in the market for a new computer, then came back to the terminal.

Why I avoid the Lathrop terminal now. Bet that they will try and push that load off on a L/O while saying, here take this and here is your "nice' back up plan. Been there, done that

It is rather surprising that they would t-call it if there were no other loads around.
Why not just make me keep it and go with the new delivery date?

Still, I'm glad I don't have to go back to Safeway.

The t/a in ft Bridger. As far as I could get. Icy road conditions and I was losing traction just getting up small hills. Somega super truckers out here. Almost 70 in the hammer lane. Radar showing worse by salt lake. Mac 22 to deliver 6 hours late. Saw plows, going east

Still here at Lathrop, along with dozens of other drivers.

    Not a bad day, however.
I went back to Best Buy and bought a new computer.
    It's pretty nice.
A HP Envy 17" with 16GB of RAM, 6th gen I7, a 1 TB hard drive and Nvidia graphics. The screen is wonderful. Full HD and the viewing angle is great. Much better than any computer I've had.

I didn't really need a new computer, but my sister does. She will be getting my old one, which will be a fantastic upgrade for her.

Now I'll be saving for a 2 TB hard drive so I can dual boot with Linux. I'm not a Windows buff anymore, but some things can't be done in Linux.
I could do it now, but I would rather have a TB for each OS.

Iowa 80, can't deliver this can load until Tuesday. So the new video made a nice little note that the drive cams are "still company trucks only, for now".
