Hmmmm recruiter sounds like a piece of work there ........apathetic like this dump I stopped at
I30 ex 77b royse city tx,if not for the soulmans bbq right next to it and their tasty succulent little piggy parts (and the brisket) I'd bail before paying there 7.50 parking ransom yet parking is a premium around here and I had to push hard for my miles to get here.....

Exit 13, Idaho. The Stinker. What fun from the down side of cabbage to here. Snow packed roads with a nice headwind at times. Well what I thought would happen did. Get over here and all of the good loads are gone. Only ones left are short ones. Was sent one, 575 mile to Stockton for Monday morning. I knew I should have gone with my gut. This bs with the planners is getting old. The worst part, I am still in Troutdale's planning area. Remember I took this load because of what my dm told me.
fr8monkey Thanks this. -
Little America, WY.
On the western side.
Well, now I'm pretty broke.
I just bought a 960GB Sandisk SSD hard drive to replace the 1TB 5200RPM drive in my new computer.
That should speed things up nicely as the hard drive is the only weak component in this system.
It was on sale at Best Buy for $250 (at a couple others as well). But that is a GREAT price for that large. I figured I better snatch it up in case the sale doesn't last forever.
It's a good thing I was up $100 with gambling going through Nevada. At least I have enough cash to get me by until pay day.
And Little America...
I'm just about to go in to enjoy one of those wonderful shower rooms, which I don't mind paying for in the least.
And I snagged one of the last chickens for dinner.
I'm a happy camper tonight. -
I just got out of Lathrop a couple days ago, after waiting 3 days for a load.
Has it gotten better since then? -
Moose, who knows. I just refuse to go to their planning area or their terminal after what they pulled on me last time. Removed a pplan from me saying customer cancelled and then offered me the same exact plan later in the day, but I had to deliver a Safeway load at night for live unload, and then some other BS. As far as I am concerned, unless you are a l/o out of that terminal they do not play nice with you.Moosetek13 Thanks this.

When I got up this morning I learned that I-80 was closed between Rawlins and Laramie.
Much of the highway between Little America and Rawlins was showing black ice on the WYDOT site.
And very high winds reported, upwards of 75MPH gusts.
I waited a few hours before hitting the road to let things clear up a bit.
There were a few messy spots between Little America and Rawlins, but nothing very bad.
It was after Rawlins that things got a little more dicey with some areas of blowing snow and near whiteout conditions. But I-80 was open and the winds had died down to around 50MPH.
With 41k low in the box that didn't worry me.
It got a bit tense after I left Laramie and got over the hill.
There were strong side winds blowing snow over the highway, and it had iced over.
The truck started going sideways twice, but I was able to ease it back without a problem.
The truck behind me wasn't so lucky. As I glanced in the mirror I noticed that he was jackknifed and in the ditch, partially blocking the left lane.
After that incident the road cleared up nicely and it was easy sailing into Cheyenne.
Which is where I am now, at the TA.
I wanted to get this far today because everything west of here has a couple storms coming in over the next couple days. But from here it should be fairly clear all the way to IL.
And the forecast looks good for Monday into Tuesday for my home time load to MN. -
Stuck here in Boise. The so called nice loads where all taken. Was sent a pplan, pick up today and deliver next Thursday, 1200 miles away in Iowa, then Denver planners called me and asked me to help out. Pick up a 46K load of dirt for Denver and then they would back me up. That was not happening. I have had Denver mess me up twice with what I call bait and switch, help us out, and then all of a sudden 2nd load cancels. Then looking at the weather map, glad that I made that decision. Showing heavy snow from Burley going down to SLC and then across I-80 for the weekend, Was also seeing what Moose was talking about.. At one time today Elk MNTN to Cheyenne was closed east bound. I have this feeling that I am sitting all weekend here. Thank you DM for getting me hooked up before I got here. Tells me overbooked and then all of a sudden all of the loads are covered. I can guess what happened. Only about 4-5 weeks left here. Looking at another 1300 mile pay week.
Moosetek13 Thanks this. -
Fairview, TN at teh J for 30. Not sure if I want to go 3 more hours knowing how hard it will be to get parking in Arkansas at 0100

Lewiston terminal. First time that I can recall taking 95 all the way up from Boise. Not bad when empty. Little hairy a couple of times when all of a sudden white outs. Picking up a load of roll paper, 14 rolls and of course, the trailer is sealed so I have no clue how it looks. It is 40k but since comes here in day cab, no scale and there is a section of 95 that the tandems have to be all the way forward. Should be fun back on 95 south with 40k Just need to make sure that legal before the 1st scale. Then a long drive to Mesa, AZ. Mostly 95 and 93 the whole way. Get to finish the week with 1700 miles loaded and 300 empty. I can guarantee that coming out of Phoenix after home time, there will be no west coast or north of I-20. Enough of this crap. On the good side, received a phone call, pre-approved for new truck and job when return from vacation end of March.

It might be better to go around the longer way, than take 95 south.
I'm in Gretna, NE at the J.
I had a very nice day. No bad weather and no wind the whole day.
There may be a bit of snow tomorrow morning, and I'm hoping it isn't too bad. The big storm doesn't come in until Monday night.
I deliver in Bedford Park, IL Monday morning at 0800.
My last fuel stop is the TA in Morris, 45 miles away, so I'll be staying there tomorrow night.
