I-70 eastbound for Columbus in the sleeper.

We will be headed for MI tonight. Gonna try and get as much sleep as possible to get rid of the remnants of this head cold.

    On home time!

I had a nice 2k week before home time, so I'll have a decent check when I get back.
I come back Friday after 4 days off with plenty of time to make a good next check.
My last load was so light I didn't even feel it dragging me down through the mountains, and no wind to speak of even through WY.
I got to my delivery about 1/2 hour early this morning, just 10-15 minutes before 3 other Swift drivers pulled in. I was in and out in less than an hour.
And, the weather is great here, just after a bunch of snow a couple days ago.
To top it off, my sister picked me up from Inver Grove terminal and will return me on Friday. So I'll still have my nice clean mt when I get back.

    Right now, Life is Sweet!!!

So far we've taken an empty from the Alb lot, headed for a pickup, and had the check engine and regen light come on, went back to the shop and had the fuel filter replaced and regened. Went out again and the yellow check engine light is coming on intermittently.

Now we're under load, so we'll see how this goes. Headed to Phx. Might try and snag a new truck. We're late for our home time.

The yellow check engine light resolved itself halfway to Flagstaff. Other than a couple of misfire hiccups pulling some hills it ran fine. A clogged fuel filter makes MUCH more sense to me to explain the symptoms we were experiencing.

Sitting in Phoenix now after t-calling our load, hoping to get a fast load to Jurupa Valley to start our home time.

    I-74 headed for Columbus

last night on the way to Springfield, IL check engine light came on while my co-driver was driving he called on road and they did a remote diagnostic saying it is a bad line heater. So our def system and regen doesn't work. Truck still drives fine so they told us to finish our load and get to a terminal after we mt out.

I called the shop in Columbus to see how long it would take and he said 2-3 days to fix because they would have to order parts. So I called our on-site manager to see if they could get us a loaner truck to keep us moving and she was thrilled at that idea so we now have a loaner waiting for us at the Columbus terminal. When we get there we will drop our truck off at the shop, grab the bare essentials, and temporarily move into the loaner for the next few days.

We have a load headed for Chicago after we swap trucks so hopefully we don't get put in one of the few KW company trucks. I don't feel like playing with that big of a truck in Chicago. But I'll take what I can get at least I won't be sitting at a terminal for a few days.

    Burnsville, MN, at home.

And having fun getting rid of Windows 8, downgrading back to Windows 7.
I haven't done a complete systen install for quite some time, so I'm having to relearn/remember a few things.

I had to call Toshiba tech support to be able to boot the Win7 disc. The function keys were not responding the way they should so I couldn't get into the BIOS or boot from the DVD.
    I was suprised.
Once I got through to her to just tell me what she wanted me to do, instead of telling me every keystroke, it went just fine.
She had me do a hard shut-down with the power button from the login screen, and that let me use F2 to get into the BIOS. Then a couple changes in the BIOS let me boot from the Win 7 DVD.
On and off in about 10 minutes, and I was booting off the DVD.
Now it's the slow process of finding all the right device drivers for a system originally designed for Win 8, and plowing through all the updates.

I had to use a second computer and a portable drive to get and transfer the driver for the wireless LAN because Win 7 didn't recognize the hardware.
If anyone does this type of thing, make sure you have the drivers for your network device before you start. If you don't have a second computer to fall back on, and the means to get it over to the other one, you will be in a pickle of a mess.
But once you can access the internet you can easily get everything else you need.

My experience with the Denver planners lately has be horrible. It took me over 4 hours yesterday to get a load after I MTed out. They keep throwing garbage at me hoping I take SOMETHING out of frustration. This has happened 3 out 4 times I MT out in their planning area. Now I know the REAL REASON Scotty wouldn't go to Colorado.

    scottied67 Thanks this.
