I delivered to Sam's here, then I had to find an mt for my next load - a Walmart blitz load that doesn't deliver until November. It t-calls in Lathrop tomorrow.
The first place I went to (after striking out at the JV terminal) would not release a trailer because they needed them all for preloads.
After nearly an hour I was sent to another Walmart DC about half a mile away. That place was the quietest Walmart DC I have ever seen, and they had a good mt for me.

Once I picked up my load it was into rush hour, so I headed here. I called for fuel as I came in so I wouldn't have to pay for parking. I even found a decent parking spot.

I'm happy that I had a load right out of here. Not so happy to be going back to Lathrop. Hopefully something east from there, this time.

Sorry I didn't get to see you in Lathrop, but I ended up having to get up very early so I had to get some sleep.

I love getting to Wendover. Good food, good parking, good showers, and sometimes good gambling.

 

This is the first time I've been across 80 this year. And there is already snow up on the peaks.

I've given up on gambling ... but I went over to the Steak House, at the Rainbow and had a prime rib.

 

Was the first place NRT?

Was the the Walmart DC the one off of San Bernardino Ave?

 

The first was William Carter in Chino, but it didn't say that on the building. I don't remember the name.
The Walmart DC was also in Chino.

 

I t-called my load here at Lathrop around 1300 today, and no pplans.
Until I got one at 1700 that was a @#&garbage*(* trailer spot in Stockton, which I ignored.
The computer here seems to like fluff loads that involve a trailer move when there are no real loads available. This is the only place I have run into it, and it has happened so often here in the past week.

But I did have time to get the F2 out of the way, so that was nice.

 

It's funny, actually.
The first pplan was to spot a trailer at Ryder, which came in at 1700.
The next pplan was to pick up a trailer at the same place by 0100 tomorrow. That one came in at 1840.
I guess it figured that I had 10 hours off and that I would be ready to work again at midnight.

Someone really needs to work on that program.

I waited to do my post trip until just now, during the last 7 minutes of my 14. That should preclude any plans until at least 0500.
