With 600 miles to drive today I don't think a split would have helped much.
I shut down with 2 minutes left on my 11.

In your case a split would not have helped.
I made the decision yesterday NOT to do a split. The lack of truck parking between the LA basin and Phoenix (at night) made it really iffy to force myself to park for 2 hours when I needed the sleep anyway.

Lack of parking? There's a whole desert almost off any road is a strip of dirt,lol.... Anyways looks like my fleet at greatwide is closing but I have many options within greatwide cardinal to keep on trucking ...I guess the main problem is the low rates but I also know there not that bad every where....it's broker freight it's tough, got an offer for a decent gig out of Memphis supposedly mostly drop and hook but they also said back hauls so I'm not sure exactly? Mostly tn,ks,mo,il,ok,ar,tx but recruiters lie or don't really know plus it's swift like pay banded for miles but my costs here are low and still get a fsc and fuel discount but sounds like a drop in pay to me,lol...think I can move to greatwide truckload management lots of agents here with there own freight....nothing good ever seems to last ....hope I can be more in control like at eagle but paid better like my fleet now....the best of both worlds I guess

I was stacked with 3 pplans this morning, all the same.
Go to Dollar General in Indianola, MS and grab an mt, then bring it to the Memphis terminal.

I stopped tonight, halfway through, at the Love's. I was just about 30 minutes short on my 11 to make it back to the terminal.

I saw a couple other Swift trucks along the way that may have been doing the same.

Speaking of stacks I'm sitting on 3000 miles worth. Got another 400 to go to get to Pottsville PA at 1815, I'm north of Columbus OH. Picked up in Johnson AR after putzing around MO IL and AR. After Pottsville, I'm hitting the Jonestown terminal for a 34 and heading to Pennsauken NJ, then Downingtown PA to SLC.

And after that the destination is Phoenix by the 16th. So I can be ready for securement training and switch this truck for a FB truck.

And I did go underground.Id show more to give you a better idea but right now the internet is dodgy and that took 10 minutes to upload. Found a nice editing app for hiding certain numbers. It was laid out well but if you screwed the setup like the Shaffer driver who scrapped the wall to my left.... It wouldn't be fun. And yes I tried to stop him.

When you get to Indianola, don't be suprised if there are no mt trailers. I dropped there a couple of months ago ... 14 "mt" trailers all filled with scrap cardboard. Called the planner for an mt, told me there are 4 at Dollar ... nope sorry, walked every unsealed trailer on the lot, all filled.

I got the first one already, and I'll go for the second in the morning.

But it doesn't matter in any case. If there are none the load assignments are a moot point. I was just moving trailers from Dollar General to the terminal. I will just say there are no mt's, so give me a real load.

So, Indianola, MS at the Love's again.

As I was going to pick up my 3rd mt I got a pplan. Not a bad load so I accepted it.
After I picked it up I stopped here for a 30 minute break and called JV. I didn't see a reason to drive to Memphis with an mt just to leave with the same mt for my next load. I requested that my empty call be done and to be dispatched on my next load.
The first person I spoke with said she could not do that.
So I called again and spoke to a different DM. No problem, and I was dispatched.

It saved me 2.5 hours of drive time and the company many gallons of fuel.

And I have never seen that Dollar General so dead as in the last couple days. I'm wondering if they are shutting it down, or if we lost the account or something. But there were virtually no trucks of any carrier going in that were not Dollar General trailers.
This morning there were 2 other Swift trucks there just to get an mt, bobtail like me.
When I've been here in the past the staging area was pretty full. Not now.

At least that ended well. Sounds like they are either closing that one or opening a new one. Could have also done something to make all those carriers pull thier fleets too. Idk what but that does sound odd.

Wal-Mart here in Pottsville is trying to run me out of time, we shall see. Been here 3 hrs, got 2 left. Luckily swift runs out of this DC, so I'll probably snuggle up in our part of the DC of it comes to that. Jonestown is only 30 miles away if they hurry. There are a few other places closer.
